Police in Las Vegas now know who is to blame for Friday night's murder-suicide on the Vegas Strip, but they're still trying to piece together the why.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that 31-year-old Edward Brandt of Lake Forest, Illinois shot concierge worker Jessica Kenny before turning the gun on himself. The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the hotel's lobby. Kenny did not survive the attack.

While Twitter was filled with tweets about the shooting and the situation still unfolding, Excalibur, in an attempt to keep things calm, issued the vaguest tweet possible as their first response:

They finally became a bit more human two tweets later:

The Sun states that "police have not said what relationship Brandt might have had to Kenny." There are reports he could have been a former boyfriend. The Vegas concierge was 30 years old.

What a mess

I was walking past Bellagio around 8:40 that night and the emergency vehicles and sirens were unreal.  After hearing about the Connecticut massacre earlier in the day, this had my heart in my throat.  Spoke to an eyewitness at Aria later on and heard what happened.  Just awful stuff going on in this country anymore.  "Only In America" is taking on a whole new meaning.
