How A Rock Of Ages Lead Rocks (and Relaxes) Vegas

Kyle Lowder: less soap, more swooning.

Time for another My Vegas. It’s hard trying to keep tabs on all the happenin’ stuff in Sin City, so we’re calling in expert advice. Every time we bump into a Vegas celeb, we’ll grill them on where they rate and what they like to do (yes, handily, this can also double as a stalker’s guide to Vegas).

Readers may not yet relate the celeb featured in our latest installment of My Vegas as a Vegas celeb. For good reason since we grilled Kyle Lowder, who plays Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages, a show that just made it's debut at the Venetian a few short days ago. But we're told soap opera fans may recognize him from...wikipedia...wikipedia....Days of Our Lives or The Bold and the Beautiful.

If you're curious where the city's newest entertainers hang or are an admitted soap star stalker, VegasChatter has done all the dirty work for you.

Favorite Vegas show (besides your own): O at the Bellagio. Fascinating and mesmerizing show.

Favorite Vegas club: Hard to pick one. But if I was forced, I’d choose Tryst at the Wynn. Many nightclubs can seem claustrophobic to me, but the open layout and fresh air atmosphere with the waterfall and natural landscaping at Tryst keeps me hanging there for hours.

Favorite Vegas restaurant: Impossible to pick one in this town so here's two: I'm a steakhouse guy so I get the whole fine-dining package with Prime in the Bellagio. Best steak I've ever had, a ridiculous wine list, and views of priceless artwork and the Bellagio Fountains. If you're looking for a more casual vibe, look no further than Public House in the Venetian right outside the Rock of Ages theatre. They have a beer list that's second to none and one of the most creative menus I've ever seen.

Favorite spot to relax in Vegas: I've spent some quality time in the Venetian/Palazzo spa (Canyon Ranch). It's done wonders to help me recuperate from the rigors of this vocally and physically demanding show.

Best thing off the Strip: Loving the golf in Las Vegas, so many options. I'm a low-handicap golfer so I always look for new and challenging courses.

Best Vegas surprise: The so-called "off-days" in the middle of the week are not "off" at all. This town is buzzing seven days a week. I love the energy here.

Best advice for Vegas virgins: Pace yourself. This town is so much fun and so exciting, but it can be overwhelming at the same time. You almost literally have anything and everything available to you here. And always remember the code: "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."

Best hangover cure: Sleep, hydration and little "hair of the dog." I always go with a well-made Bloody Mary.

The sin I would like to see Sin City lose: To avoid being blacklisted somewhere, I'll answer this with a personal mindset that I've always taken to Las Vegas. This is a powerful place. Respect this town and it will respect you.
