Red Square To Reopen In A Week

The vodka will soon be flowing again at Red Square inside Mandalay Bay.

A walk by the recently shuttered bar-slash-restaurant revealed that a quickie renovation isn't being kept too tightly under wraps. The door was wide open and nothing covered the windows, either. When we ~~pressed our nose up to the glass~~ strolled by, a lone employee worked on the flooring. A sea of red still reigned inside.

The biggest news we spied, however, is that Red Square will allow guests back in to chill a week from today on Monday, December 10.

Meantime, next door, a cacophony of banging emanated from inside LIGHT, a nightclub by Cirque du Soleil and The Light Group. Unfortunately, it was sealed up tight so we could only listen and imagine. The nightspot, located in the space formerly occupied by rumjungle, will debut this March.

A few steps away, China Grill and Red, White and Blue have been enclosed in a sea of black. The Light Group is taking over these spaces, too, with Citizens Kitchen replacing Red, White and Blue and a new yet-to-be-named-or-detailed restaurant concept replacing China Grill. Expect Citizens to start serving up fare 24/7 this January. No word yet on when the second eatery will make its debut.
