Bowl Season Is Upon Us
The college football regular season ended this weekend with a fantastic SEC championship game between the University of Alabama and University of Georgia. The winner, Alabama, now plays Notre Dame to be the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) national champion of the college football world. That big game isn't until January 7 but, in the meantime, we have a slew of college football bowl games to watch and wager on.
The bowl schedule kicks off Saturday, December 15 when the University of Nevada (Reno) Wolf Pack take on the Arizona Wildcats in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. A week later, December 22, bowl season comes to Sam Boyd Stadium with the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl where the Boise State Broncos play the Washington Huskies.
Spreads for every bowl game should be available at all of the sportsbooks by now. Many people think that Notre Dame vs Alabama will make for the biggest college football game that sportsbooks have seen in a long time, if not ever. The game is expected to have almost 30% more bets than a normal BCS championship game because Notre Dame is so popular.
While the BCS Championship is normally a busy time in the sportsbooks, there is more excitement than normal for this year's game. If you plan on making the trip to Las Vegas just for this game, you may want to begin making reservations now, especially if you want to see the game at Lagasse's Stadium.
