In Some Ways, Circus Circus Is Just Like Bellagio (Seriously)

We know what you're thinking. We obviously are writing this under the influence. But, the only high we're on is one of the vanilla latte nature.

Back in January, we showed you the new rooms of Circus Circus. Unexpectedly nice and modern, they are a refreshing change to a hotel we still name as one of our top budget picks.

What we didn't realize, though, is that a lot of the new furnishings came from Bellagio. So, not out of the box new, but still a lot better than what the property previously offered.

As Momentum, the online corporate blog of MGM Resorts, reports:

About 2,000 rooms in the Skyrise Tower and the Manor were outfitted with Bellagio furnishings, including fixtures, lamps, armoires, wall art and more.

In addition, about 800 rooms in the resort’s Casino Tower received all new furnishings and a redesign handled in-house by MGM Resorts International Design.

All of the rooms also received the standard room musts of these times -- flat-screen TVs and WiFi connections.

Momentum also states that Circus Circus is on the verge of finishing updates to its public spaces, too, including new paint and carpeting. We clicked over to Foursquare and spied what we believe to be new casino carpeting here in a photo taken just about a week ago:

So, what do you think about the new Circus Circus? Worth considering a stay?

Meh,,

I never had a beef with CC. I've stayed once (yeaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago) but have made it (and Slot's o'Fun) an occasional haunt.  I like the craps table practically on the sidewalk out front of SoF.  CC is and awlays will be kitschy..but cest' la vie.

hmm

Well I think it's well deserved and much needed lol . . looks good too, although am I alone in thinking of snakes when I see the carpet in the new room?

scary

I've never even walked in here but kind of want out of a morbid sense of curiosity. is it really that bad?

@Oskee2001

It has a horrible rep, and mostly deservedly so. It had been neglected for a while, partially redone and then left to sit.

But, with the changes, it makes a good budget pick. You just have to be prepared for the crowds. And, the kids ;)

I love the more off strip properties.

First i just want to ask which room in the pictures provided in CC? If i cant tell the Diff then that must mean the rooms look great. If i were on a budget and got a nice room i would be very happy. I always rent a car and i usually stay further away to get the best bang for my buck. I stayed at the Rio and Palms and got great value for staying off the strip.

@mstrstock

Errr.. yes :)

@tashajilek

Those are both new rooms at Circus. The Casino Tower to be specific, although if you visit their site, they are showing new room product across the board.

Thanks ^^^

I wasnt sure if they were both CC rooms or if one was a comparison to a Bellagio room LOL. Anyways, they look great and much nice then some like the IP.

They lost that "fear and loathing"

After they destroyed the ferris wheel bar and turned it into an ice cream shop, a little piece of me died.  Cleaning up the rooms and going SUPER kid friendly is of no interest to me, but they do look nice.  Quick question...who goes to circus circus for nice?  You go because it is cheap, funny, weird and sometimes dirty.  Can this place really compete when it moves away fromt he only thing that made it unique?
