Where To Get Engaged in Vegas?

June 1, 2012 at 1:35 PM | by | ()

Time for another VegasChatter Question! Already? Yes, our amazing readers have great questions! Do you have a question about Vegas, too? We bet you do. Send it to us and if we deem it clean enough, we'll post it here on VegasChatter!

For today's VegasChatter question, it's really questions. Recently, quite a few male readers have been in the mood for love and have inquired about places to pop the question or renew vows. To make sure we don't spoil any plans, we're keeping names and specific details under wraps. We can say, though, that in all the circumstances, each gent has wanted something informal, non-official and a bit off the beaten path from the regular Vegas spots. cough, Bellagio Fountains, cough

Below, we lay out five versatile settings that could work for either scenario. But, this is Vegas. There are lots more. If we wanted to, we could probably list off 500 more. With that rock on their finger, though, and, err, you of course, the place where the magic happened will fade into the background for most. It's the thought that counts, after all.

So, without further ado, here are our five picks. And, if you already got engaged or married in Vegas, we want to hear about. And, don't forget to send us a snapshot, too!

Bar Mandarin:

While we couldn't find any photos to support this choice, another great spot is Bar Mandarin inside Mandarin Oriental (photo at top). There's a couple of reasons why we love this lounge as a special occasion location. One, it's located on the resort's 23 floor and provides phenomenal views of The Strip. Two, it's intimate (read: small) providing a venue where you won't feel like you're part of one big anonymous crowd. And, three, it's got live jazz on Wednesdays and, if you went the extra mile and reached out to the hotel, imagine surprising your sweetheart with a live rendition of your song. Like buttah!

Neon Boneyard:

Diehard VegasChatter readers know we love the Neon Boneyard long time. We've already suggested it as a great place to take wedding photos. But, with all that vintage neon, you can't go wrong with just about anything here. Engagements (check out the now newlyweds above), renewals, trash the dress photo sessions. They all work here. Don't believe us? Just Google Neon Boneyard (ok, we were so excited we did it for you) and discover one amazeballs photo after another.

Downtown Vegas:

A close second to the Boneyard is Downtown Vegas. And, don't just do think Fremont Street Experience, either. Check out what the couple above achieved by posing in front of the Fremont East sign. Or, what this twosome did on the casino floor of Binion's. Or, what these lovebirds did in the lobby of the Plaza. Or, what this couple did in front of some downtown graffiti.

Red Rock Canyon:

Looking for the non-Vegas-y Vegas spot? Head out, way out, to Red Rock Canyon. About a 30-minute drive from The Strip, Red Rock is surprising, unexpected, and naturally beautiful.

Bellagio Fountains:

Ok, we know we called out the Bellagio Fountains as trite, but it's also timeless Vegas, too. No one will be upset with you expressing your undying devotion to them here. To make it a little more personalized, though, don't be afraid to mix it up. Rent one of those amazing rooms with a (balcony) view of the Fountains at The Cosmo. Instead of the sidewalk in front of Bellagio, why not express your love from the patio of Hyde Bellagio? Many of Bellagio's fine dining restaurants have outdoor patio dining available, too. This VegasChatter writer got engaged at Olive's with the Fountains as a backdrop herself.

And, as we stated at the top of this post, there are many more suggestions that could be made. Add your picks to the comments below!
