We've already been keeping an eye on it, but now the folks behind Commonwealth -- the under-construction downtown bar (see below) -- are filling us in on what to expect once it opens this summer.
It wouldn't be a press release if a venue didn't tout itself as original and Commonwealth is promising us that "something different is stirring up." Described as a "cocktail bar and social house" (sorry, Social House), Commonwealth will be a two-story affair that will "look as though it was ripped right from a cobblestone street in a snowy city." Wow, that's really specific. Not so specific, details on the menu, drinks or pricing as of yet.
If you're curious about the experience, though, the front the 6,000-square-foot building will be fashioned after an east coast pub while the back will be more of a speakeasy. There'll be a 2,000-square-foot rooftop garden, too.
Commonwealth will be located at Fremont and Sixth in the Fremont East district.
