'Park' to Place Beer Garden In Former Downtown Hookah Cafe
VegasChatter fan Brandon P. tipped us off to its closure almost a month ago, but until now we didn't know just what was in store for the downtown space formerly known as Maharaja Hookah Lounge.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the venue will transform into Park on Fremont, a beer garden-slash-restaurant where you can expect to fill up to casual fare along the lines of sammies and burgers. Some of the partners in the project are also the same folks behind another bar coming soon to downtown, Commonwealth. Vegas Seven, whose publishers are among the partners, details the experience:
Custom cocktails and a full gastropub menu will join a hefty beer program in a park-like setting that places shabby-chic furniture, antique-style lampposts and a communal table in the shade of live oaks and extensive trellising.
Commonwealth should make its debut this
September August and Park on Fremont before year's end. Both are located in downtown's rapidly expanding Fremont East section, just beyond the Fremont Street Experience canopy.
