The Location:

BurGR is located right next to Planet Hollywood's Extra Lounge. We say that because, at least when we visited, there were no directional signage anywhere to be found. We'd heard it was by the lounge, though, so we meandered that way. Upon sighting it, we did make the mistake of beelining it to the first open wall and tables we saw. Unfortunately, that was the back of the restaurant. We had to double-back and go around Extra Lounge, skirting the front of the casino to access the real entrance. (Tip: If you don't see a bevy of hotties, you're headed the wrong way.)

The Food:

Clearly, there is a marquee attraction here. Beyond burgers, there are also hot dogs devil dawgs, salads, fries, onion rings, and desserts. And, booze. Cocktails and 30 different kinds of brew.

This writer went with a Euro Burger ($16), a patty topped with truffle aïoli, goat cheese, arugula, and an oven roasted tomato. It was a solid burger, made to our order. Fine and filling at the time, but forgettable by the next day.

Sides are extra here. The waitress recommended the Beer Battered Maui Onion Rings ($9) and we went along with it. Anything featuring bacon, cheese or beer being right up our alley. And, they were. The rings were actually more memorable than the burger and our second favorite thing at the joint.

Our tablemates ordered the Truffle Parmesan Fries ($11). We tried one. The waitress had it right.

So, what was our top pick, you ask? Dessert. Sticky Toffee Pudding Push Up Pops ($6 for 2) featuring, erm, sticky toffee. And, salted peanut ice cream. Divine. And, a bit of unexpected fun. One is more than enough for one person so try to share if possible.

Side note: Bring your Total Rewards card, or sign up for one prior to visiting, to shave a buck or two off of almost everything on the menu.

Side, side note: A glass of soda is $4. Hear that, Rattlecan?

The Service:

Insane. As in, insanely good. Almost too good if that's even a complaint. Personally, this Chatter'er would rather take too much than not see a soul. (We're looking at you, Holsteins.) Wait staff were chipper, friendly and checked in often, bringing refills before drinks were even half gone. It was hard not too appreciate their, umm, dedication to the job. Their commitment to wear do whatever it took to make the customer happy. Oh, so happy.

Another plus? Pulse of Vegas blog notes that BurGR hostesses will text you when there's a wait, allowing you to roam around rather than stand around.

Bottom Line:

Even though Ramsay towered over our booth with a faux scream on his face, we just couldn't work up that much emotion about BurGR. This isn't destination dining. But, if you're already at Planet Hollywood or if you're a fan of Ramsay and are looking to go for the GR Vegas trifecta, go. It won't disappoint. It just won't impress, either.

BurGR is open daily for lunch and dinner. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Editor's Note: Our bill for a party of three was $86.48. That was for two burgers, a Saba Noodle Chicken Salad, the onion rings, fries, the push up pops and a trio of fountain drinks. While the dining experience for this writer's portion of the bill was complimentary, our opinion remains our own.
