Major League Baseball Coming To Vegas This March

January 23, 2013 at 1:49 PM | by | ()

The Chicago Cubs have a tradition of taking a break from spring training in Arizona to come to Las Vegas for a weekend. The 9th consecutive appearance in Las Vegas by the Cubs a.k.a. Big League Weekend takes place March 16-17. This year's Big League Weekend will feature two games featuring the Cubs against the Texas Rangers.

Big League Weekend takes place at Cashman Field which is home to the Las Vegas 51s, now a New York Mets affiliate. Game times are still TBA due to television, but should take place early afternoon to avoid chillier weather when the sun goes down. Both games will have split-squads as is often the case with spring training games.

The Cubs have had 14 sellouts over the past eight seasons for Big League Weekend games so chances are that these games will sell out, too. These games give a great opportunity to see current and future major league baseball players up close.

Big League Weekend ticket packages are available by calling the 51s office at (702) 798-7825.
