The Ogden May Soon Be On Your Downtown List
Not a terribly recent image, but one that should trigger an 'oh, that's the Ogden' moment.
In four month's time, head to the intersection that separates the Fremont Street Experience from Fremont East, turn north and amble to The Ogden for a drink, a slice, and/or a bit of inspiration.
That's when the ground floor of the downtown residential tower expects to be fully built out with a Rachel's Kitchen, a chain cafe serving up "wholesome food"; Slice, a NYC import serving up pizza featuring "fresh, local and seasonal ingredients" with a ukulele-playing owner; a 3,000-square-foot gallery featuring the works of local artists; and, a tavern-slash-theater that will feature speakers and entertainment for intimate crowds of 70 or so.
The latter venue will be an off-shoot of the larger Inspire Theater going in right at the gateway of Fremont East. DowntownWall.com reports the Inspire space will span 15,000 square feet and will accommodate about 150 in the theater itself. The venue will also offer a bar, cafe, newsstand and meeting space as well as a rooftop balcony as rendered below. Inspire will reportedly make its debut by summer's end.
Back at the Ogden, the first opening should be Rachel's Kitchen sometime next month.
