See Michael Jordan and His Celebrity Friends Hit The Greens In April

The annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational (MJCI) returns to Las Vegas April 4-7. Once again, the tournament will take place at Shadow Creek golf course and be open to the public.

Celebrities for this year's event haven't been announced yet, but the short list of famous people that played the MJCI in the past is quite impressive. Sports legends include Wayne Gretzky, Charles Barkley, Mario Lemieux and Julius “Dr. J” Erving while entertainment personalities have been highlighted by Mark Wahlberg, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Don Cheadle.

Aria is the host hotel for the MJCI. You may have already seen a save the date email. Here are some tips we've learned from previous years:

1. Shadow Creek is 30 minutes off the Vegas Strip. You'll probably want to rent a car or take MGM Resorts up on any shuttles they offer.

2. If you do drive, bring cash. In the past, parking was $10 cash only. No credit cards were accepted.

3. If you care more about looking at famous people than you do golf, go on the weekend. The first two days are full of the amateur half of the pro-am. The'll just get in your way.

4. Learn golf etiquette. Visit the MJCI website and be cool.

5. Enjoy highlights from the 2012 MJCI below.

Since Aria is the host hotel for the MJCI, they're offering ticket and hotel packages. If you're not interested in spending your day outside away from The Strip and you just want to see famous people, you will probably get that opportunity just stalking hanging out at Aria.

Not A Golf Person

But, went the first year and it was a good time. Would definitely recommend going for a day if you haven't gone before.

The weekend before I am in town. Wish I knew about it before booking for the following weekend.
