Cirque's One Night For One Drop Will Be Unique, And Fancy

Looking for a unique Cirque du Soleil experience that can also make you feel good? On March 22, inside the Bellagio's "O" Theatre, all seven Vegas Cirque shows will collaborate in a one-off performance being especially created to raise money for One Drop.

Billed as a truly one-of-a-kind show, it will be created and directed by Krista Monson, casting director for the entire Cirque du Soleil organization. We'd wager she knows how to put on show. We're intrigued how all the Cirque productions will be merged. The thematic concept "will celebrate the earth as an artistic creation and highlight water as the essence of life within the earth’s ecosystem." Plus, demonstrate some rather nifty acrobatics.

Here's the tricky part: Tickets start at $150 for an obstructed view seat. But, it is for charity and you'll garner plenty of bragging rights. $500 will get you a nice seat. If you want to head to the after-party they are asking for $2,500 to have fun and mingle with a very select crowd of well-heeled philanthropists. They say they'll be taking over the pools and courtyards at Bellagio. Cirque folks don't mess around when they hold a party.

So, it's fancy. How fancy? The honorary chair for the night is Prince Albert II, His Serene Highness, The Sovereign Prince of Monaco, Marquis of Baux. Yeah, we just had to copy and paste that official title for you. So, if you were on the fence about seeing Zarakana or Criss Angel on March 22, may we suggest you go to this night instead and make us all jealous by telling us how it went?

One Drop is the non-profit organization created by Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil, that includes a mission to provide access-to-water and sanitation projects in countries that lack such elemental necessities. Cirque tries as hard as possible to conserve and, during the recent Cirque Week presentations, backstage staffers stressed their conservation measures in such matters like the huge laundry turnover for all their shows. So, a good cause. A good night out.
