The Week Vegas Goes Country

Yee haw!

"The Week Vegas Goes Country" is fast approaching. That's the week the Academy of Country Music comes to town.

Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley will both perform as part of the week-long festivities that will culminates on April 7 with the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Academy of Country Music (ACM) will host several additional events from April 5-7 at the Orleans to celebrate not only the top icons in country music, but the lifestyle and flair that comes along with it. It's a good thing, too, because tickets for the actually awards show are sold out.

Here's a look at the events you can still check out:

The ACM Experience is a free and family-friendly experience that will feature live performances and lots of country-themed shopping and snacking. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 5-6 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 7 at the Orleans. New this year to the ACM Experience is a two-day outdoor music festival headlined by The Band Perry on April 5 and by Dierks Bently on April 6. The concert is a ticketed event, however.

The ACM Expo, which is part of the ACM Experience and thus does not require a ticket, will be where the aforementioned shopping and snacking will take place. This is the place to pick up your cowboy swag and chow down on country fare. What exactly is country fare? We're guessing lots of barbecue with a few Rocky Mountain oysters thrown in for good measure.

The Award Ceremony will be hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan and broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 7th. For those who didn't snag a ticket, the ACM Fan Jam will broadcast it live and include a performance from Brad Paisley (hopefully during commercials!) at the Orleans.

Lastly, Tim McGraw will host a "Superstar Summer Night," a two-hour concert event, at MGM Grand on April 8. The music-fest will be taped and aired at a later date on CBS.

Head here for tickets to the Fan Jam, Tim McGraw's concert or the ACM Experience. There are usually free ACM concerts at the Fremont Street Experience, but so far nothing has been announced. We'll let you know when it is. In the meantime, for a complete listing of announced events, visit the ACM website.
