Turns out, faxing is actually pretty popular, especially with international guests, according to the agent. While it's an old school method, the security faxing affords is great for sending copies of sensitive financial or identification documents which some guests find themselves in need of ASAP after any number of possible incidents. I also discovered that, for some guests in need of hard copies, it was much easier to get a fax than to get an email and then track down a printer. I was also told a number of Asian guests seem to prefer sending faxes to friends and family as a quick trip update.
While I'm still not sold on the idea of faxing as a resort fee amenity, it does seem to make a difference for some guests. Now that I think about it, one fax is easier than using a multitude of apps so maybe they're on to something.
Do you agree that faxing is a pretty useless amenity or are you a regular fax user? Wait for the transmission screech and then send your thoughts along down below.
