Generally, teams that make the Big Game from large cities will draw more people to Las Vegas to catch the action. More people means higher room rates. Teams from large cities in the Big Game aren't the only ones to have an affect on prices. Teams with a close proximity to Las Vegas will bring more people to town. With Denver, Seattle and San Francisco in the upper tier, you can see potential for a larger crowd than a matchup with teams from smaller markets.
We should also note that the San Francisco 49ers have a large fan base from Hawaii because of their proximity. If they make the Big Game again, you can expect Downtown Vegas to be packed since that's where many Hawaiian visitors stay.
Reserving hotel rooms today doesn’t mean that you’re locked into keeping them. Most hotels in Las Vegas have a three-day cancellation policy so that you can hold a room for a cheaper price now and make your final decision as the game gets closer. But, keep in mind, some travel sites will make you pay in advance. Just make sure you review the cancellation policy before making any reservations.
