The Rumor As To Bill's New Name

Take it or leave it, but the rumor mill fired up over the weekend and spat out a new name for Bill's --

The Cromwell.

Vegas Seven cites sources as reporting "the deed is done." Click the link for the alleged reasoning behind the name.

Caesars Entertainment isn't commenting so it's true until it isn't, we guess.

When it comes to hotel names, Cromwell is a popular one. A Google search found quite a few Cromwell hotels, including ones operated by Best Western and Ramada. For a hip, new boutique, that might not be the best way to go. But, then again, it's better than The Quad. (Sorry, Quad.)

The Cromwell, or whatever it will be, doesn't have an official debut date yet, either. (Though, signs point to May 2014.) When it does open, the completely renovated property will boast 188 guestrooms, 19 suites, a lobby bar, an ultra lounge, retail shops, a 40,000-square-foot casino, a destination restaurant overlooking the Strip (Giada's), the return of Drai's Nightclub and a rooftop pool/dayclub (also run by Drai's).

The hotel-casino had been dubbed a Gansevoort property until the partnership fell apart back in October.

Better Name

The Cramden

To the Moon, Alice! To the Moon!

Figures. CZR has been making so many stupid moves lately they've chosen such a stupid name.

Serious? Your Marketing Dept needs our help

The Cromwell?

are you serious?

Sounds like a english butler.

horrible name!

wait till you see the amount of heat you'll get from people.

ever heard of market research?

do you know how a best selling book gets its name?

by proper mkt research.

placing ads on fb and google with diff book title names.

the one that gets the most clicks is the winner.

give the people what they want, not what you think they want.

if you want to help your hotel before it even opens, you need to hire us.

its evident you already are headed down the wrong path.

what if the bellagio called itself "The Neapolitan", 'The Mafia" , "the spumoni", "the spagatini" or some other horrendous name?

you're branding yourself horribly , even before the doors open.

let us know when you want serious help.

better names

The Infinity
The Oasis
The Palace
The Delgado

Ever heard of split testing?

Obviously not.

Market research?

Guess they may have done some of the same research they did before naming the Quad and ignored it.

Hmmm...

Makes me think of Halloweentown.

PreppyVille

Cromwell sounds like the name of one of the preppy characters in one of those 1980's movies.

Monty Python

Obligatory <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwiztVCnjY0">Monty Python reference</a>.

Seriously?

Wasn't it only a few a few years ago Caesars was trying to limit the number of names they have under their brand umbrella? Why not just name it "Horseshoe" or "Harvey's" and call it a day?  People would at least be attracted to those names... The Cromwell? It reminds me of the movie "Babe" and dry British tea biscuits. I'll pass thanks.
Sadly, this almost makes the Quad sound like a good name, and I was there at one of their first tournaments. People booed when they announced the hotel's new name. Sad thing is I believe Caesars actually does marketing research on these things. Maybe they should read the results.

Cromwell????

Here's i new idea.
How about a Casino name with a reference to gambling.
These turn off names like The Quad and Cromwell suck@!Q!!

Horseshoe good!

Cromwell bad!

The Oasis?

No offense, but half of your suggestions sound like retirement communities or apartments .. I'll take The Cromwell

Not horrible...

At least its not initials or something with Vegas in it.. its original and has an opportunity to create a name for itself, i just pray for it lol especially with Caesars managing it.  I actually liked the idea of calling it Drai's.
