An email teaser proclaims The Commissary, located in Downtown Grand's Grand Tower (that's the one on the same side of 3rd as Triple George Grill), as The Commissary Latin Kitchen by Richard Sandoval. That name may ring a bell with foodies as Chef Sandoval has won numerous best restaurant and best restauranteur awards for eateries around the US. He also previously helmed Isla Mexican Kitchen at TI.
The promotional announcement describes Commissary as a "unique dining experience" offering "three different cuisine concepts:"
The foodie destination features house-made, fresh ingredients highlighted in:
1. Artisan Latin inspired sandwiches (tortas), salads, soups
2. Selection of uniquely crafted burgers & hand-crafted milk shakes
3. A rotisserie with Chef Sandoval's special spice rub chicken, 12 hour smoked brisket, tacos and burritos
The dining area also boasts a Lavazza Coffee Cafe, serving world class coffee drinks, made-to-order crepes, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt-granola parfaits and gelato flavors
A full menu, with pricing, can be viewed here. Choices range from $4 (for sides) to $22 (whole rotisserie chicken) with most falling around $8 or so.
Originally, The Commissary was set to house a host of separate eateries, announced venues had included Daily Kitchen, i♡burgers, 3rd STREET TACOS, Short Round’s Bao & Dumplings, Coffee And Crepes, and The Bar.
