Another MGM Restaurant To Shutter Soon

February 11, 2013 at 12:15 PM | by | ()

As we suspected, MGM Grand won't have two Michael Mina pub/tavern-themed restaurants.

Last year, Mina's SEABLUE restaurant at MGM closed to make way for a new concept by the celebrity chef, PUB 1842, expected to open sometime this summer. Now, thanks to VegasChatter fan Jack K., we can confirm that his other MGM restaurant, NOBHILL TAVERN, will, indeed, shutter. Jack reports that while dining at NOBHILL over the weekend, a waitress informed him that the restaurant will close in April. From the sounds of it, another Mina concept will not be slated for the space.

MGM's Grand Renovation has already brought new rooms, new casino carpet, the opening of the Brad Garrett Comedy Club and Project Pie, the closure of Crazy Horse Paris for a rumored crass-ier concept, the loss of the Lion Habitat, a remodeling of Fat Tuesday, the end of Studio 54 for the coming five-story Hakkasan restaurant, lounge and nightclub and the closure of Tabu Ultra Lounge in April for either a remodel or an entirely new concept.

And, we have a feeling MGM Grand isn't quite done shaking things up just yet.

2.12 Update: The Vegas rumor mill has a date of April 15 for NOBHILL's closure.

Can't say I'm sorry to see it go

I had one of my worst Vegas dining experiences there. We were seated next to a very large and boisterous party that should have been given a private room. We couldn't hear ourselves or the server. The service was slow. And the food was not worth the price or aggravation (though certainly worth close to the price and somewhat less aggravation).
