Where To Honor St. Patrick This Year

February 15, 2013 at 3:17 PM | by | Comment (1)

How Ri Ra did it last year. More clapping, less drinking than we expected.

With New Year's Eve a distant memory (or coming up for real go-getters) and the Mardi Gras hangover starting to clear, VegasChatter has started to field more St. Patrick's Day queries. The answers are more important this year than perhaps any prior as displaced O'Sheas and Fitzgeralds loyalists look for a new place to revel in Irish green.

Below are our 2013 Irish and non-Irish suggestions in the post O'Fitz era. Note that many spots, especially the Irish bars, will charge a cover or sell tickets. Call ahead if there's any doubt.

WAAAAAAY OFF STRIP:

Shamrock Shamble Golf Tournament in Mesquite
This one will take some planning since Palms Golf Club in Mesquite is just over an hour drive from Las Vegas at the Nevada/Arizaon/Utah borders. But we list it as an alternative to a drinkfest in the city. It's a nine hole Shamble format event with teams of four limited to using three clubs per player. Yes, a group of buds could play a golf course closer to Vegas but that would defeat the spirit of the shamble, no? Register online for $40 per player, which includes tournament entry, contests and prizes.

Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort
Want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the great outdoors? The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort will host a weekend-long St. Patrick's Day celebration that will include a pot o' golf scavenger hunt on March 16 with a chance to win a season pass. On Saturday and Sunday, the Bristlecone Bar will offer green beer, Guinness and specialty shots while the Bighorn Grill will serve up Irish fare.

Caesars Entertainment?

Well either all of the Caesars properties won't be celebrating St. Party's day (except osheas) or there is some questionable reporting here... Looks like there may be a paycheck waiting for you at MGM! Lol
