What About The Casino In The SLS Vegas Resort Casino?

SLS Las Vegas has the cash, the opening timeline (fall 2014) and the models, but a VegasChatter fan wants to know more about the latter part of the coming resort-casino:

Ok, we have all the info about the hotel, but will the hotel have a casino and if it does, who will operate the casino services? I know that sbe has some kind of rewards program, but that was a bust kind of. Will we see a revamp, maybe a loyalty program and a rewards program in one? -- @breannamstewart

To answer the questions in the order they were asked -- yes, SLS Las Vegas will have a casino. And, sbe, the owners of the brand, will run it. A SLS Vegas representative points out that while it will be the first casino inside a SLS, it's not the first time sbe has run one. They say sbe ran the Sahara's casino for four years before it closed and that SLS' executive team has a number of gaming industry veterans including Rob Oseland who, as President and COO of SLS Las Vegas, will oversee casino operations. A hire that Vegas Seven saw as a potentially winning move last year.

As for the casino itself, a spokesperson says SLS Las Vegas will offer "hundreds of slots and table games, poolside gaming and a beer garden featuring sports betting." As for a loyalty/rewards program specific to gambling, details are not yet available to share.

sbe couldn't run an iconic casino.  I highly doubt they have the ability to run any casino well.

Knock it down and start from scratch

If they are going to reskin, paint, etc, I wish them luck.  Any time I hear about a refurbishment, all I can think of is opening the Westin Casuarina.  Nice, new looking building in 2003, but with horrible plumbing and electrical issues because the building was built as the Maxim in the 70's!  I've heard the west wing at MGM (Marina) has issues, and I wouldn't be surprised if the what was Vegas World at the Stratosphere has issues too... A sparkling new property may have attracted me, but I'm not really interested in a Sahara redoux.

Not correct

I don't know what's worse, the fact that VegasChatter doesn't do its research or the fact the sbe is lying once again and the media believes it hook line and sinker. Its comments like this that make people cynical about Nazarian and sbe... There's nothing accurate in that statement. sbe has never been licensed to run a casino. The Sahara casino was run by Nevegante group. Nevegante leased the casino floor and got a management fee from sbe. The only thing sbe ran was the hotel and food operations. sbe claimed they would apply for a gaming license in 2007. They never did and still haven't.
