Who Has The Best Mexican Food On The Strip?

May 31, 2013 at 2:24 PM | by | ()

Time for another VegasChatter Question! Do you have a question about Vegas, too? We bet you do. Send it to us and you just might see it here on VegasChatter!

Ask someone where to go for the best steak on the Strip and get immediate answers. Burgers, same. Best restaurant for romance, no problem. But, inquire as to where to find the best Mexican fare on The Strip and folks often pause. Ponder. And then, usually, qualify.

VegasChatter fan Lara W. really wants to know where to go for the best south of the border flavor, though, and asked us for the answer:

how about a piece on the best Mexican food on the strip. The burger and steak review horse has been beaten to a pulp. Carlos and Charlies is slop, T&T has good specials and Cabo Wabo has one the best al fresco spots in all of Vegas. But what else is here??? Is there any 5 star Mexican? I wish I could travel there enough to know for myself. Vegas Chatter is the best Vegas site online by far!

We posed Lara's query to our followers on Twitter and the overwhelming vote was for Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, but a few other restaurants were elected as well:

Do you agree with Border Grill or would you nominate another Mexican restaurant for the top spot on the Strip? Sound off in the comments below!

Tacos El Gordo!!!!!

Never eaten at the one on the strip though, just the one on Charleston. Best damn tacos I've ever had!

Perhaps the wrong question

The person who claimed China Pablano isn't authentic Mexican is answering the question you meant to ask, but not the question you actually asked. You asked what's the best Mexican restaurant. China Pablano is authentically Mexican. It isn't, however, Tex Mex or Southwestern, which is are distinct cuisines and what most Americans think of as "Mexican" food. Border Grill, Carlos & Charlies, Cabo Wabo, Senor Frogs, etc., are all Tex Mex or Southwestern. And if we're discussing that style, I'm surprised no one's mentioned Mesa Grill at Caesars.

Luxor wins for Mexican food....

Tacos and Tequila...booyah!!!!

No one!

Go to any Roberto's Taco Shop.

My vote is

Taqueria Canonita at the Venetian.  The fish tacos are sublime. Plus you can get Open Table points.
