2014 Guide To March Madness In Vegas

March Madness is almost here! Four bids will be up for grabs in conference tournaments set to take place in Vegas at the beginning of March and then the mayhem will truly begin.

If you have questions about specific parties taking place around town or want to chat with or meet up with other basketball fans during the tournaments, stay connected by joining the March Madness in Las Vegas Facebook group. And, in the event you can't afford the $50,000 viewing package at Carmine's, we've put together a list of all the other things happening around town. Be sure to check back as we will update our guide as more are announced.

➮Speaking of Carmine's at the Forum Shops, they're now offering a $150 per person March Madness package for March 21-22. It includes an all-you-can-eat buffet and unlimited draft beer (Coors Light, Ballast Point and Blue Moon only). Six projection screens and two big screens will be brought in for guests. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m. To purchase, call 702.473.9700.

South Point will host a "Hoops Heaven" viewing party March 20-22. Guests will be able to watch the action in the hotel's Grand Ballroom as well as enjoy on-site wagering stations, free chair massages, and food and drink specials which will include $16 buckets of Bud. The party will be free and open to the public. South Point also will offer two winner-take-all $10,000 jackpot parlay cards for the opening rounds of the tournament March 20-21. They'll be released on March 17 and are $5 each. There are no limits on the number of cards you can purchase. Cards for Thursday must be submitted in-person before 9:15 a.m. on March 20. For Friday, submit in-person before 9:15 a.m. on March 21.

Fremont Street Experience will host its 5th annual Downtown Hoopstown through April 8. Head to the canopy for nightly entertainment by the Hardwood Hotties (7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on select dates), the world's largest NCAA bracket, fan shoot-outs, and a special basketball-themed Viva Vision production.

Hard Rock will host a Tournament of Madness viewing party March 20-22 inside The Joint. Priced at $68 per person/per day, the party will offer bottomless Bud Light drafts and thousands in giveaways. A three-day package is available for $150 while VIP suites for up to 10 are priced beginning at $2,000. The VIP package will include an open bar and buffet.

William Hill sportsbooks are running a Three 'N Out elimination contest with a prize pool of $25,000. Each entry costs $25. Players will pick one side or total during each day of the tournament. If the pick wins, that entry moves on to the next day. Once an entry has lost three times, it is eliminated. Players can purchase a maximum of ten entries. The contest will start on Thursday, March 20, 2014, and will last until there is either one entry remaining, or through the national championship game on Monday, April 7, 2014.

Hoops & Hops will take place inside The Chelsea at The Cosmo from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 20-22. There are four packages up for grabs: "The Main," which includes open seating, access to a basketball court, Wii video game stations, pool tables and arcade games and two complimentary beverages for $45 per day or $112.50 for a three-day pass; "The Gallery" with access to The Main as well as prime viewing assigned seats, select open bar and complimentary snacks for $150 per day or $375 for a three-day pass; "Floor Sofa" offers seating with prime viewing that can be configured to fit parties from two to 10 and includes access to The Main (prices vary depending on party size); and the "Gallery Box" with prime viewing for parties ranging in size from 10 to 16 and includes access to both The Main and The Gallery (prices vary depending on party size). Tickets for Hoops & Hops are available online.

The Orleans will host all-day viewing parties March 20-23 and will show the action on more than 200 flat-screen TVs. Food and drink specials will include $1.50 Vienna beef hot dogs and $2 well drinks at any casino bar. Guests can watch the games in the Mardi Gras ballroom, Brendan's Irish Pub or the Bourbon Street Lounge. Doors will open at 9 a.m. each day and entry is free.

Arizona Charlie's will host viewing parties in the Arizona ballroom March 20-23. There will be live betting stations, food and drink specials, and giveaways. Entry will be free. Doors will open at 9 a.m. each day.

Suncoast will host its March Hoopla party March 20-21 with $2 Coors and Miller beers.

Lily at Bellagio will host viewing parties beginning March 20-23. Head here starting at 9 a.m. those dates to catch all the action on plasma TVs. March 27-30, Lily will host a sweet 16 and Elite 8 parties also beginning at 9 a.m. On April 5 and April 7, the bar will host Final Four and Championship viewing parties. Deuce Lounge at Aria will also host basketball viewing parties March 20-23 (starting at 8 a.m.), March 27-30 (starting at 9 a.m.), April 5 and April 7 (beginning at 3 p.m.). Deuce will offer six flat screens as well as a 103" projector. Call 702.693.8300 for reservations.

The D wil host a free viewing party in its ballroom March 20-23. The bash will include satellite betting stations, blackjack and craps tables, drink service, and food available for purchase from American Coney Island.

LVH will become Hoops Central March 20-23. The action will be shown on giant HD screens and admission will be free. There will be seats for more than 1,500 as well as $2 beers and $2 hot dogs. Doors will open at 8 a.m. each day with the exception of Sunday.

Chayo at The Linq will feature food and drink specials March 20-23. A breakfast menu will be priced from $12-$16. Corona buckets ($25 for five), 2-for-1 house margaritas, and $8 nachos will also be offered. Or, spend $10 for two lobster or carintas tacos with a draft beer.

PBR Rock Bar at Miracle Mile will offer open bar specials March 18-April 7. All-day bottomless drinking is priced at $200 a person. Go for a shorter session by paying $125 to drink up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or from 4 p.m. to midnight. All prices include a guaranteed seat. PBR offers 105 HDTVs.

Cabo Wabo Cantina at Miracle Mile will have drink specials March 18-April 7, including the "double shot," a 40-ounce, drink-for-two made with four ounces of tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice and agave nectar for $32. Cabo's Strip-side patio will feature beer tubs and bucket specials with prices starting at $25.

Treasure Island's ballroom will open its doors at 7:30 a.m. March 20-23 for a March Madness viewing party with satellite betting stations. There is no cover, but seating is first come first serve.

RHUMBAR at The Mirage will have optional all-you-can-eat-and-drink packages March 20-23. Packages start at $100 per person for a single day and go up to $250 per person for a four-day package and includes unlimited well drinks, Bloody Marys, Coors Light bottles, breakfast burritos, chili, nachos, hot dogs and more starting at 8:30 a.m. until the final buzzer. The PUB at Monte Carlo will host its March Mania Party March 20-23. Call 702.730.7420 for specials and reservations.

➮"Full Court Packages" are on sale for Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, Harrah's, and The Quad. All feature open Miller Lite and Coors Light beer bars, all-you-can-eat buffets, and appearances by Miller Lite and Coors Light models. Tickets start at $115 and are on sale now.

Pure Nightclub will host parties March 20-23 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. with beer and cocktail specials and a variety of bites including zesty chicken wings, BBQ pork sliders with pineapple slaw, grilled loaded chicken sandwiches, the infamous Dirty Chip “Nacho.”

Social House at The Shops at Crystals will offer an Elite Ate college hoops menu starting March 18. During game time, eight specials will be offered for $8, including four different TY KU cocktails and four food specials ranging from crab croquettes to salmon rolls.

Minus 5 at Mandalay Bay and Monte Carlo will hand out free Minus 5 baseball caps to each guest that presents a valid college or university ID with the purchase of a two-cocktail package.

Tacos & Tequila and FANTASY at Luxor will team up to provide basketball fans with a snack and show package. Available March 1-April 7, the promotion will allow guests to enjoy Basketball Nachos, a Jose Cuervo shot, the choice of a Dos Equis or Coors bottle of beer and will include one ticket to FANTASY. If you'd like to skip the show, just the food and drinks can be purchased for $15 per person.

Chayo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar at The Linq will offer food and drink specials March 20-23. The restaurant will open early at 8:30 a.m. the first two days and at 9:30 a.m. on the last. Specials will include $25 buckets of beer (five Coronas), 2-for-1 house margaritas, 2-for-1 well drinks, $8 nachos, and $10 for two tacos (lobster or carnita) and a draft beer for $10.

Rockhouse at Venetian / Palazzo will offer March Mayhem open bar packages March 18-April 7. Guests can choose to drink from 8 p.m. to 4 p.m. or from 4 p.m. to midnight for $125. Drink all day and night for $200. The packages include guaranteed seating.

Aliante will host a March Mayhem bracket contest beginning March 20. Registration is priced at $20 per entry, with all entry fees added directly to the prize pool in addition to a $5,000 bonus from Aliante. The contest opens for enrollment March 8 and culminates with the NCAA Men’s Championship Game April 7.

Aliante's Race & Sports Book will offer jumbo dogs for $3 each, or two for $5, along with Budweiser products for $2 during all tournament games.

Crazy Horse III has a new sports bar filled with seating and more than a dozen high-def TVs. It will host a happy hour from noon to 8 p.m. during every game. Specials will include $20 buckets of Bud or Bud Light (four bottles) and "Deer and a Beer," a shot of Jägermeister and a Bud Light, for $6. Call 702-673-1700 for more.

JW Marriott will host B-Ball Madness viewing parties March 20-23 that will feature food and drink specials ranging from $1 hot dogs and draft beers to $12 buckets of bottled beer. There will be a free coffee station, too. Doors will open at 9 a.m. each day.

Last Man Standing returns once again to all Station Casinos’ sports books where the “winner takes all” in a minimum $50,000 guarantee college basketball elimination contest. Guests can get in on the action at any Station Casinos, Fiesta and Wildfire Gaming sports book as well as at the El Cortez. The cost is $25 per entry and with purchase of four entries, a fifth entry is free. Entries must be received by 9 a.m. Thursday, March 20, which is the first day of selections.
