Without fail, it's the question that always comes up whenever we write about The Cromwell -- will there be a casino?

The answer is yes, but the fact that folks feel compelled to ask says a lot about the state of gaming these days. It likely also says a lot that reps for The Cromwell are talking about everything but the casino, placing the focus on accommodations as well as their marquee chef Giada de Laurentiis and their day and night life venues by Drai's.

The Cromwell's website now dedicates a full page to the casino, however, revealing that it will cover 40,000 square feet and feature 66 table games (including blackjack, craps, mini baccarat and Pai Gow poker) as well as 440 slot machines, a high-limit room with three tables, and The Abbey, a "exclusive, reserved gaming area," with three tables here as well. The Abbey will feature a lounge with seating and a TV and can also be "curtained off for privacy."

Meanwhile, a casino bar has been dubbed Interlude and will have TVs and "digital gaming areas" on one side while the other is "strictly a lounge."

The Cromwell will officially open on May 21.

It's a CET casino

So I wouldn't get too excited about the casino.  It will have 6:5 blackjack and bad comps.

Is it just me

Is it just me or are their renderings a little on the creepy side?
