Weekend Flooding At The Linq

June 16, 2014 at 1:12 PM | by | Comments (4)

Late Saturday night, folks stopped and gawked at a new attraction at The Linq. But, while the The High Roller usually pulls gazes up, this one had folks eyeing the ground and stepping carefully... where they could.

A water main burst just after 11 p.m. Saturday night (early reports put it as a sewage pipe) at the outdoor mall located between Flamingo and The Quad. Gushing water quickly filled a wide swath of the Linq promenade and even made its way into businesses, including Brooklyn Bowl. Of course, it didn't take long for folks to begin posting video and photos on social media channels:

The water is now gone, but not all the affected businesses have recovered. According to The Linq's Facebook page, BLVD Cocktail Lounge and Style Lounge (a salon) are still not ready to reopen.

The IP/Quad parking garage becomes a river when it rains.
