With sunny skies and a string of highs in the 70s ahead (except Thursday... drat you, Thursday, and your 63 degree high!..), Vegas is ready to get its pool party back on.
At least four will dive back into the swim of things (hee) in less than a month with more suiting up soon after. Here's how opening season is shaping up in Vegas:

Would you believe us if we told you that pool season is just around the corner?
It may not feel like it in the midst of this polar vortex, but if all goes according to plan and the weather cooperates, we could see hotels begin to reopen their party pools as early as St. Patrick’s Day. That would mean that we're only two months away from showing some (more) skin.

What does Vegas do when the high drops down to 70? Yep, pull out the hoodies and drain the pools.
Locals were in sweats, jackets and full-on coats everywhere this writer looked this morning (while bravely going against the grain and wearing a short-sleeved shirt) while Vegas resorts ready to move the party from poolside to brunch-side. (Yeah, that's stretching it, but go with it.)
At Hard Rock, Rehab will shut pool season down with Sean Kingston on October 13 while Liquid at Aria parties one last time this Sunday, October 6. Encore Beach Club's last event is listed as October 12 while MGM's Wet Republic will shutter after one last blow-out on the 13th. Meantime, TAO Beach at Venetian and Marquee Dayclub at Cosmo will try to stay open through October 27.

We won't be getting another stripper pool anytime soon, but it is a possibility in the year
2000 2015... ish.
Last month, OG (Olympic Gardens for Vegas old-timers) asked city officials to give them more time to get an expansion off the ground that would include, perhaps, a roof-top pool.
There are strip clubs and then there are strip clubs in Vegas. And, even this VegasChatter'er has been to one of the most OG (as in original gangsta) in town -- OG. As in Olympic Gardens. (And, yes, ok. More than once.)
Located just down Las Vegas Boulevard from the Stratosphere, OG rightly bills itself as the only strip club on the Strip. In 2011, city officials approved a request to expand the gentleman's club by 38,000 square feet which would include the addition of a 8,770 roof deck. Tomorrow, OG will ask for a time extension on the project because it's "used the last few months to observe the emerging trends using accessory pools to establish a business plan that utilizes the roof-top recreational area." Or, in layman's terms, it's thinking about adding a stripper pool to the roof, y'all.
Sadly, city officials are recommending a denial to the request for more time. In the summer of 2011, city officials stated that the expansion approval would become void after two years. We'll let you know if they change their mind.

Sunday brunch while overlooking a topless pool? That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas.
With a new brunch menu, the sexy surroundings at Bare, The Mirage’s adults-only pool retreat, just got a lot more tempting. For the record, this Vegas Chatter’er did not dine topless. Though, if not sitting with other distinguished members of the media, it might have happened. What? Too many cute tops have suffered from our messy eating habits. Besides, tan lines are the worst! Here's our thoughts after dining if not au naturale, al fresco at least.

Despite the coming streak of consecutive 100-degree days and our usual unwillingness to quote country songs, things just might get hotter as the sun goes down on the Vegas pool scene.
While most hotel pools close between 5 p.m. and sunset, a few stay open late by means of concerts and special events bringing a whole new meaning to the idea of "suiting up" for a night out in Sin City. For your nightlife needs, check out these wet and wild pool parties happening across town this summer:
Night Swim at XS: Don your swimsuit (but keep it under a classy wrap until you get there, tho) and watch the pool turn into a dance floor at Wynn/Encore's Sunday late-night pool bash. Doors open at 10 p.m. and table reservations can be made by calling 702-770-0097.
“Party Like It’s $19.99!” at Sway Pool Lounge: Silverton Casino is hosting this poolside summer concert series featuring cover bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s. The $19.99 ticket includes entry and two drinks (well cocktails or domestic beers), or you can buy a $15 ticket that does not include beverages (which would be silly). The concerts are held mostly on Saturdays and doors open at 6 p.m. You can see the full schedule here.

From Daylight to Light to Eclipse, Mandalay Bay wants to be your new dusk-till-dawn nightclub destination. The club wars in Las Vegas hit the tipping point this weekend with the opening of the European-inspired Daylight Beach Club and the Cirque du Soleil-inspired club, Light. This may be the nightlife point of saturation for a dramatic year of Vegas resort shuffles and maneuvers.
We'll have an inside look at Light in another report, but here is pretty much every nook and cranny at Daylight.

With nightclubs and day clubs, Las Vegas is a 24-7 party. Day clubs (some with pools, some without) make it easy for you to get your daytime debauchery on. You’re in Vegas, after all. Why wait ‘til the sun goes down to start drinking and dancing?
Recently, we were invited to visit one of the newer additions to the day and pool club scene, Bagatelle Beach at Tropicana, for some al fresco fun. Our party had a great time, but not without a few downsides. Here's the pros and cons:

Stripper pool meet world. World meet stripper pool. When it comes to scoping out the new Sapphire Pool & Day Club there's more than one way to skin a cat. There's the in-person and high-powered zoom lens methods that we recommend, but not everyone has that kind of time or commitment. Thanks to the World Wide Web, the at-home voyeur can peek inside the pool by following it on Facebook (SapphireDayClub), Twitter (@SapphireDayClub), and Instagram (sapphiredayclub). Ya know, basically what the Internet was created for.
Pretty sure you only need two reasons to follow the Stripper Pool but since we're overacheivers we'll go for seven:

DAYLIGHT Beach Club is taking over the resort's auxiliary pool (referred to previously as the South or Landshark Lagoon). We first reported the news back in November. The pool experience will span 50,000 square feet and will offer "three wet decks," a vine-shaded stage (see below) for DJs and live acts, and six LED screens for your viewing pleasure. Its 'vibe' will be influenced by Mediterranean party spot, Ibiza:

Vegas is one month away from its stripper pool.
Sapphire Pool & Day Club will open for the season sometime in April. When we first reported on the news of its coming arrival back in December, we didn't quite know what we were getting. Now, we do thanks to a teaser photo posted on its Facebook page earlier this week.
