The SLS Vegas is moving forward. If only on paper.
In a press release issued today, Sam Nazarian is sticking with an anticipated opening of 2014 for the transformation of the Sahara. And, when it makes its debut, it will be all Fred Segal, all the time.

Since it was first announced, Caesars Entertainment has made no secret that it's going after the Gen X and Gen Y demographics with its coming Linq, the 'outdoor destination' taking shape between
Imperial Palace The Quad and the Flamingo. But, the more we hear, the more it seems like Gen Zzzz.
Today's big announcement was the reveal of more
bland tenants for The Linq, one of which we already knew -- Yard House. You know an announcement is underwhelming when the Wall Street Journal begins its coverage of the news with:
If you’ve ever had the urge to bowl or scarf a gourmet cupcake while you’re in Las Vegas...
Yes, The Linq will bring bowling, cupcakes, a pizzeria, shoes, and booze to the Las Vegas Strip. But, don't worry, it will be brought to you by "impressive" and "trendsetting brands," as Caesars itself proclaims in a press release issued earlier today. Here's a rundown of the specific venues:
We're a few days closer to The Linq's big announcement, whatever that will be. But, in confirming our attendance at the October 1 event, the Linq let us know when we could hit the outdoor mall, erm, destination by including this logo as its signature:
Out of all the rumored replacements for Holly Madison in Peepshow she was our favorite. And, now it's for reals. Coco will be the new Bo Peep on the Vegas Strip. And, really, how could you not pick the only candidate who faithfully posts Titty Tuesday pics on social media each week?
Coco reported the news on Twitter:
The news is... I'll be taking Holly Madison's place headlining for the sexiest show in Vegas at Planet Hollywood's Casino called"Peepshow"— Coco (@cocosworld) September 25, 2012
On Monday, VegasChatter received an invite to attend a "special announcement for The LINQ, the new social center of The Strip," with the teaser of a "fresh perspective." We just assumed that the press conference would reveal the new name for the Imperial Palace... until that was announced later that day.
Now, we wonder -- just what will be unveiled next? Which
chains brands will join Yard House in the LINQ? Will newer renderings like the one that was provided of The Quad's exterior be revealed? More updated details, perhaps, on the project's timeline that seems to have been extended into 2014?

Don't call it a residency. It's a "moment in time."
In a town that can't keep a secret, news that country legends Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be appearing at the Venetian this winter was so old, the much-hyped announcement proved appropriately anti-climactic. But, for the Venetian this is a very big deal. And, you've never seen so many executives in suits, all trotted out to welcome the duo. We swear we saw the assistant to the traveling secretary. Press from all over the country flew in to witness a happily married couple with three kids announce that their super-spectacular series of Vegas concerts was built around their children's school schedule. This wasn't Marilyn Manson announcing a series of gigs with Rob Zombie.
Months ago, we heard rumor that Cantor Gaming would be taking over the Lucky's sportsbook space at The Plaza. You've been asking and we haven't had a clear answer... until now. Cantor Gaming was silent on the matter only saying that we'd hear something soon. There was no signage for a Cantor sportsbook on the property so this writer was skeptical. Still, the rumors persisted.
Well, existing sportsbook management, Lucky's has a new parent company named William Hill and they just announced that they have extended their partnership with The Plaza and will begin improvements on the space soon. The Plaza sportsbook will undergo a series of upgrades including new TVs, seating and a redesign of the adjacent bar area. No date has been given for the improvements, but we have to imagine we'll begin seeing something when the NFL season begins next month.

Speculation has been rampant about what the Venetian-slash-Palazzo will do to fill the holes left from the departed Jersey Boys (now at Paris Las Vegas) and the soon-to-leave Blue Man Group and Phantom of the Opera.
We got one of the answers back in May when execs announced the coming of Rock of Ages this December. But, there's been no word on what else may be to come. Well, no official word. There's been tons of printed ink on rumors ranging from a residency by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to the possibility of a second Broadway production. Both Spider-Man and Book of Mormon have been bandied about.

A press conference is set for this Wednesday by Krave representatives in Fremont Street's Neonopolis. Specifically, in the old movie theater space which seems to imply that the club is taking it over. The media alert says architects from the Perlman Design Group will be on hand, too, so we have to assume that there will likely be design renderings on display of what's to come.

Ok, first. Yeah, get a load of the new Fitzgeralds. We mean, the D. We finally can confirm the D. And, it's lowercase "the" like theHOTEL, but with a space. the D Las Vegas, officially. The D Las Vegas, grammatically. But, we digress.
With today's announcement of the new name came new glimpses of the new brand to come, from the exterior image above (featuring a new still-to-come outdoor bar as well as go-go dancers.. and a couple who are really lovin' the new downtown) to swank new rooms (pillow-top mattresses, flat screens, and WiFi, anyone?).
