Five Disco Balls to Dance Under (In Case You Don't Have Gaga Tix)

Blinded by the (disco ball) light.
Ok, you may have heard that Lady Gaga is bringing her Monsters Ball tour to Las Vegas tonight and tickets are completely sold-out. (Well, you could still try your luck with some scalpers.) Yet there's a way to party in Vegas like Lady Gaga without actually going to see Lady Gaga--by hitting up the clubs. Specifically, clubs with disco balls! You know, for you to dance under with your disco stick. Here's our list of five places to seek out the glitterballs. (Hint: they aren't all at dance clubs.)
5. Studio 54: This nightclub may have lost its luster a bit since 2000 but tonight it will host the hottest party in town--the Semi-Precious Weapons concert after-party. SPW is opening for Gaga and she has been known to show up to their after-parties in the past. Naturally, this party will be overloaded. You're best bet of getting in? Being a go-go dancer or buying copious about of bottles.

Glowsticks, Hearts and Disco Balls: A Night In With Manilow
This is probably the wrong thing to admit, what with our carefully constructed too cool for skool image and all, but on our very first night when we moved to Vegas in January, when our brand new housemate asked us what we would do that night, if we had to go home the next day, we said: MANILOW.
Not because we’re Manilow fans, you understand, but because one of our favorite aspects of Vegas is getting stuck into the cheese. Rod Stewart. Tom Jones. Donny & Marie. You’d never see them at home, would you? Not unless your mum paid for your ticket, your train fare, and the booze you'd need to knock the shame of going there on the head. But in Vegas, it’s the thing to do. You know it, and, more importantly, they know it, and that makes it all the more fun.
So, Manilow. We had great expectations, despite the lipsynching rumors, and we weren’t disappointed when, checking into the theater, we were handed glowsticks to wave at our leisure. Yes, glowsticks. ‘Mazing!
We’re not quite sure whether the sticks were ironic or not, but who cares? We loved it.

From Barry The Manilow to Leighton The Meester: What's On Offer In Vegas This Weekend
There’s a bit of a dearth of top sleb action in the clubs tonight (the top draw being Holly Madison hosting at Eve), mainly because Barry The Manilow starts his new residency at Paris tonight (tickets are sold out for tonight, but otherwise start at $95).
But, tomorrow it’s a bit better because Leighton Meester is at Haze throwing a Good Girls Go Bad party, while over at Jet, guido Ronnie and guidette Sammi are hosting a Break-Ups and Make-Ups party. And there we were thinking we’d have to go a week without a Jersey Shore fix. We can now breathe again.

Barry Manilow Fan Club is Gearing Up for Its 2010 Convention

Now that Barry Manilow has moved his way up from the Las Vegas Hilton to Paris, it only makes sense that the Barry Manilow International Fan Club will be moving their convention in July to the Paris hotel.
The All Barry, All The Time weekend (July 9-11) consists of seeing Barry's show on Friday and Saturday night, with a formal sit-down dinner at the Paris on Saturday. After each show the party will continue with the "Jump Shout Dance Party" (Friday night) and the "Dancin’ In the Aisle Disco Party" (Saturday night.)
Alas, the packages are not cheap. Staying at Bally's, which connects to Paris, the package prices begin at $1,350. For one person staying in Paris, the price bumps up to $1,450. And not just anyone can book these packages. You must be a card-carrying member of the BMIFC. Not to mention, space is limited. Oh snap!
Meanwhile, Barry is finishing out his engagement at the LV Hilton now. He starts up officially at Paris in March. Tickets range from $95–$250, and are available from the Paris Théâtre box office, and at ManilowParis.com.

Last Minute Lovebirds May Win a Honeymoon Stay at Las Vegas Hilton

Hey all you cash-strapped, last minute love birds. If you’re getting hitched between now and early December, Las Vegas Hilton is offering a Twitter promotion that may help with your honeymoon efforts.
The hotel is giving away ten 3-night getaways for the weekend of December 7-9, 2009, plus a pair of tickets to the National Finals Rodeo. (We’re not so sure that extra perk adds to the romance factor, but maybe if rodeo is your thing, it’s the perfect foreplay.)
Here’s what interested honeymooners need to do to participate:
• Follow Las Vegas Hilton on Twitter.
• Fill out the entry form on the hotel’s website here.
• Stay tuned to Twitter between now and October 23, 2009 to see if you and your sweetie are winners.
• Click here for all the official rules.
But apologies in advance if you were wanted to see Barry Manilow during your romantic trip. The crooner just announced his engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton is over. Rumors are he's going to set up shop on the Strip at the Paris Las Vegas. Ooo la la.

Wayne Brady Ain't Making %@It Up This Month

If you were heading to the Venetian this fall and hoped to see Wayne Brady in his show "Making %@It Up!", you better have a backup plan. Wayne Brady has pulled out of his Venetian shows until November 12 due to vocal strain. The Las Vegas Sun reports:
Bowing to a schedule that put too great a demand on his already taxed voice, Brady has pulled out of every performance in October and early November at The Venetian Showroom for his regular music-and-improv gig, “Making It Up.” He’s out through Nov. 12; refunds are available through The Venetian box office (call direct, 414-9000).
