Vodka for Breakfast, What Else Would You Expect from a Buffet in Las Vegas?

Last weekend, Twitterer HeartBreakTheeo was thrilled to see that the Paradise Garden Buffet at The Flamingo gave out little vodka bottles during brunch. But we're not that surprised. This is Vegas! Of course, they are going to hand out little vodka bottles with breakfast.
Actually, this is probably a part of the buffet's "Bloody Mary" brunch which runs from 7am to 4pm and costs $24.99 per person. The first Bloody Mary is included but you have to pay up for the rest. You can, however, mix your morning hangover cure to your own delight as Paradise Garden provides the toppings and mixers.
Aside from alcohol, there is actual food at Paradise Garden. In the mornings, you can expect to find ade-to-order Omelets, several breakfast meats, buttermilk biscuits, waffles, country-fried potatoes and freshly baked pastries. The breakfast of champions indeed.

Breakfast at Rumor is Worth Waking Up For
Last week we told you about our rough intro to Rumor Resort when we tried to check-in. Surprisingly it turned out we still enjoyed the rest of our stay. Still undecided for yourself? The Hotel’s restaurant, Addiction, might sway you. Valet parking is free if you’re driving, so you can easily zip on in and check out the any of the four menus without ponying up for a room before you’re ready.

What Does $5.99 Get You At the Rio's Breakfast Buffet?
We heart Isidra
We’re suckers for a bargain, and as we told you yesterday, we signed up to receive texts from the Rio in the hope of saving some dosh. We weren’t overwhelmed by all the offers, but the one that really took our fancy was the chance to try a breakfast at the Carnival World Buffet for only $5.99 (normal price $14.99). Including tax, our total was $6.48.
So on Tuesday we cashed in our voucher, paid up our moneys and entered the buffet. For that price, we were fearing the worst.

The Bellagio Promises a Swank Sunday Brunch with a View

"Pretty" typically isn’t one of our requirements for Sunday Brunch in Las Vegas. Maybe if we were on a romantic getaway or had parents in tow, but usually, we’re on a stealth mission for a greasy hangover fix and couldn’t care less about our surroundings.
We’re thinking we may have to step up our standards a bit and check out Fountains Brunch at Jasmine at Bellagio; we hear it’s mighty swanky and full-blown experience for the senses. Butter-laden baked goods greet guests upon arrival in the form of a “Tableside Bakery Trio.”
Next, guests have several stations of delectable options to consider, including the Lakeside Shellfish Bar (we’re a sucker for freshly shucked Oysters on the Half Shell), an Organic Egg Station and a Carving Station where they can choose from Peking-style Duck, Roasted Prime Tenderloin or house-made Sausage.

Slide into First at The Palazzo For a Breakfast Sam'wich Hangover Cure

There are two types of hangovers. The first is the one that leaves you so ill and nauseous that the mere mention of food sends you running into the bathroom praying to the almighty porcelain god to make the pain go away.
The other type is the kind that leaves you feeling crappy but somewhat functional. Yet in order to recover and make it to the pool party later, you'll need some Advil, a shower, sunglasses, and a big fat breakfast sandwich. And for that, you need to take yourself to First Food and Bar inside Palazzo.
The eatery from New Yorker chef Sam DeMarco just opened in June but we've hit it up for breakfast twice already. In a city where the breakfast options are plenty, that's saying a lot.

La Creperie: A Taste of Paris at Paris

The concept of a fine breakfast is wonderfully subjective for most of us and it can change from week to week depending on our mood, schedule and even a lifestyle change (that diet you might be on consisting of egg whites and a grapefruit - but we shouldn’t digress).
So you're in Vegas, and if there is one thing this city teaches you is that you have to break out of the ordinary if only for a brief time and try something a little different. In this case, we heartily suggest starting your morning with a desert crêpe at the La Creperie kiosk located in the Paris Las Vegas.

Breakfast Bites: Throwback Peppermill Offers Hangover-Curing Feast
Seeing as how half the visitor population in Vegas doesn’t stagger out of bed until at least noon, anyway, breakfast in Vegas can often seem beside the point. Of course, prevalent casino coffee shops (everything from Starbucks to the 24/7 diner-style eateries) are usually there to offer up coffee and breakfast-y items at any hour of the day or night, so no worries for those who remain zonked out for all the a.m. hours past sunrise; you can get your Frappuccino fix or French toast any time you and your bleary-eyed self manage to stumble out of your room.
For a pointedly Vegas experience, however, it’s worth it to leave your hotel altogether and head off campus to the freestanding Peppermill Coffee Shop located next to the decidedly past-its-prime Riviera Hotel-Casino. For more than 30 years, Peppermill’s been offering huge portions in a distinctive atmosphere – with their interior neon lighting, faux Tiffany lamps and oversized, curved booths, it’s as if the entire restaurant's sporting a vintage leisure suit.
Start the most important meal of the day with a bloody mary in the Peppermill’s retro-swank fireside lounge, where cocktail servers donning Charlie’s Angels-era evening gowns seat themselves on velvety ottomans next to your table to take your order. The addition of too many flat screen TVs to the lounge a few years ago somewhat diminished the place's 70s, tiki-bar feel, but it’s still worth a stop.

Checking In On The Omelet House's New Digs
Yes, we know we just posted a piece on the Omelet House two weeks ago, but we were invited to a media event last Thursday for their new home at the Plaza Hotel in downtown. What can we say? We are eggaholics here at Vegaschatter.com (we promise to limit our addictions on the website to just one addiction a week) and the chance to see how they’ve developed since they opened just a week and a half prior plus grab another omelet was too tempting a proposition to push aside.
For a briefer, the Omelet House is a 30 year-old Vegas institution, with the original location just West of the I-15 on Charleston Boulevard, but their new location at the Plaza really works. OH’s new dining room is the first thing you see when you walk into the main doors at The Plaza. It's also got great natural light streaming in, unlike the closed-off buffet restaurants tourist typically hit up in Vegas.

Make It Spicy: The Bloody Mary Cart at Encore's Society Cafe

The Bloody Mary drink is a standard morning-after drink offered everywhere in Vegas. Yes, everywhere. It seems that anyone waking up in Vegas on Saturdays and Sunday can't function without it. (That and Starbucks. We prefer Starbucks first, Bloody Mary second.) So it's no surprise that the Bloody Mary has been elevated to a sort of art form in town. Since it's the first drink after a hard night out, it has to be just right.
At the Society Cafe inside Encore Las Vegas, there's a traditional Bloody Mary on the menu (The Society Bloody) and a Bloody Caesar--which is a blend of tomato and clam juice--along with bellinis and blood orange mimosas to complete your total Hair of the Dog offerings.
But since this is the splashy/flashy Wynn/Encore, or Wynncore if you prefer, there has to be more pizazz served with these offerings which is why the Society Cafe has a Bloody Mary cart rolling around to guests.

The Omelet House :: Where Eggs Become Fine Art

Ok, maybe these omelets aren't fine art but they come close. For natives of Las Vegas, The Omelet House has, is and always will be, a house of quality omelets! We know it’s a loud declaration, but once you have had some of their creations, like their glorious Bugsy Siegel (Italian roast beef and sour cream), you’ll give us a nod toward our knowledge on the good stuff.
After over 30 years being one of the mainstays in the city, the Omelet House (the original location is on Charleston Boulevard just off the I-15) is about to get a lot more accessible - a downtown location in the Plaza Hotel & Casino.
Seriously readers, once in here, and you’ll realize that an omelet from Dennys or IHOP just won’t have the same flair (although in fairness, that may not be their specialty, but at the Omelet House it sure as hell is).

The Waffles Cafe is a Truly Original Vegas Concoction
For some, an early morning breakfast can be a bit of an endeavor. Sure the idea can sound attractive, but rolling off of one’s futon and heading out for an early dig (get it, it’s a shout out for the morning person) just doesn’t always appeal to those who prefer to sleep in. But living in Vegas means you have a lot of friends from out-of-town who are morning people, and what kind of host would any of us be if we skirted our crack of dawn chauffeur duties?
The geographic spectrum of where tourists and visitors stay in Las Vegas has changed dramatically over the last 10 years. More and more travelers are staying on the west side of town and well away from the "Strip." It may not make for an inexpensive holiday, but it’s pretty damn chic in these parts with big resorts like the Marriott, Red Rock and Suncoast setting up business there. Add the fact that such natural wonders as the Valley of Fire and Red Rock Canyon are nearby, and the switch in emphasis makes emphatic sense.
