Lovely Brunch at Jasmine in the Bellagio, Not Sure About the Dead Duck Though
Let’s hear it for our courage. Despite our grossout at Aria the other week, we braved another buffet this weekend. This time it was the new Fountains Brunch at Jasmine in the Bellagio. It’s a pricy affair - $55 plus tax per person* – so we were hoping for some proper gourmet munchies. And here’s what we found.

The Bellagio Promises a Swank Sunday Brunch with a View

"Pretty" typically isn’t one of our requirements for Sunday Brunch in Las Vegas. Maybe if we were on a romantic getaway or had parents in tow, but usually, we’re on a stealth mission for a greasy hangover fix and couldn’t care less about our surroundings.
We’re thinking we may have to step up our standards a bit and check out Fountains Brunch at Jasmine at Bellagio; we hear it’s mighty swanky and full-blown experience for the senses. Butter-laden baked goods greet guests upon arrival in the form of a “Tableside Bakery Trio.”
Next, guests have several stations of delectable options to consider, including the Lakeside Shellfish Bar (we’re a sucker for freshly shucked Oysters on the Half Shell), an Organic Egg Station and a Carving Station where they can choose from Peking-style Duck, Roasted Prime Tenderloin or house-made Sausage.

Slide into First at The Palazzo For a Breakfast Sam'wich Hangover Cure

There are two types of hangovers. The first is the one that leaves you so ill and nauseous that the mere mention of food sends you running into the bathroom praying to the almighty porcelain god to make the pain go away.
The other type is the kind that leaves you feeling crappy but somewhat functional. Yet in order to recover and make it to the pool party later, you'll need some Advil, a shower, sunglasses, and a big fat breakfast sandwich. And for that, you need to take yourself to First Food and Bar inside Palazzo.
The eatery from New Yorker chef Sam DeMarco just opened in June but we've hit it up for breakfast twice already. In a city where the breakfast options are plenty, that's saying a lot.

Pajama Attire Requested at Sunday Brunch at Simon

In theory, we love brunch, but frequently have a problem physically extracting our tired bodies from bed in time to make the weekly booze/carb/fat free for all. But, when it comes to rock-n-roll chef Kerry Simon’s TV Land-esque rendition, all bets are off and we’re highly motivated to not to hit snooze and make a rare pre-noon appearance.
We were already big fans of the Simon restaurant at the Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles and thus we make it a point to visit the Las Vegas outpost at Palms Place whenever possible, especially for our fave make-it-all-better, cure all brunch.
The front row patio view of the Palms Pool Sunday afternoon offers the best people-watching in town, but it’s Simon’s remedial morning after fare that eases our moments of nausea.

Do Brunch In Your Bikini at Rare 120 at The Hard Rock

No one should walk into Hard Rock Hotel's Rehab pool party on an empty stomach--that's just bad news waiting to happen. Better yet, everyone should walk into Rehab on a full stomach and already partly tipsy. Otherwise, you've going to have some serious catching up to do.
Perhaps the Hard Rock already knows this which is why they have started a bikini brunch at their Rare 120 steakhouse, located poolside.
Held every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, bikini brunch offers guests an all-you-can-drink Bloody Mary and Bellini bar. And yes, you can wear your bikinis and board shorts in the restaurant. Once you're full up on liquid courage, then you can brave the crowds at Rehab. Rare 120 will give out Rehab passes but as we told you last week, don't put too much stock in those passes.
However, ladies should put a lot of stock into looking hot. That will surely catch a bouncer's eye and you'll get into Rehab faster. That's just the way it goes in this town.

Stalking 'Top Chef Las Vegas': Will Thomas Keller's Bouchon Make an Appearance?

Like we said earlier this week, filming for Top Chef Las Vegas may have ended up but the rumors are still swirling around. Per today's Page Six about the show's wrap party at Blush at The Wynn:
Our tipster also saw Thomas Keller at the bash, hinting that we should expect to see the famed French Laundry and Per Se chef as a guest judge in upcoming episodes.
Thomas Keller is also the chef behind Bouchon, a French brasserie, inside The Venetian's Venezia tower. And with most guest judges on Top Chef, their restaurants often make an appearance on the show as well. So we're thinking Bouchon has a pretty good shot.
