Every so often we get an email from someone wondering when the Wahlburgers Las Vegas will be opening. Sadly, there hasn't been much sizzling on the grill regarding when and where the first of at least three burger joints from Mark
ie, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg will open up. And we're not so sure we'll see any sizzling.
For a while, we had believed that the Wahlburgers (and their A&E reality TV show) would open up at the Grand Bazaar Shops, but a source familiar with the property tells us the boys have pulled out. However, it looks like they still want to be in Vegas as our source says the trio is looking at new spaces over at The LINQ. The change of venue is not surprising given how dead the shops are these days.
Wherever they end up, it's safe to say we don't think a Wahlburgers will open in Vegas before 2016. Indeed, the Walhburgers' Twitter account admitted as much:
@Vegaschick68 It's taking longer than expected. Thank you for your patience!— Wahlburgers (@Wahlburgers) June 15, 2015
But you know what they say--"Step by step, ooo baby, really want you in my world." Er, we mean, "Hanging tough!". Er, "Never say Never."

Editor's Note: This establishment closed in July 2013.
The gourmet burger trend seems to be slowing with less new places popping up so we're always curious when a new one debuts. PoshBurger Bistro by Conrad Gallagher just opened in Summerlin so we figured we'd check it out with a couple of our burger buddies. Gallagher is a Michelin Star recipient so he must be able to make a good burger. And, that burger better be good when it costs between $15 and $30 as it does at PoshBurger.

Gordon Ramsay BurGR's got beef. Three kinds. In each patty. Short rib, brisket and chuck. But, that still wasn't enough to get us to recommend one of the city's newest restaurants as a must stop. That's not to say that we had an awful time at the Planet Hollywood eatery. We didn't. The company was fab, the service was great and the food was good. But, just good. Not OMG. Not even worthy of a 'hey, you should go here' note to a colleague who's long been on a quest to find the perfect burger in Vegas. We digress, however. Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.

A few weeks back, we enjoyed a fantastic burger at Public House at the Venetian. The bartender said that it was one of his favorite items on the menu and recommended it to us. Who are we to turn down a burger recommendation? Everyone in attendance ordered the burger and gave it two thumbs up. After suggesting the burger and a few beers to each of us (that we also gave the thumbs up), we figured we'd ask for more recommendations. His number one suggestion was Bachi Burger. We'd heard some burger friends also speak highly of this place so we moved it to the top of our list.
Bachi Burger is not a normal burger joint. Everything on the menu is gourmet and created with Asian and Hawaiian inspiration. We started our hangover recovery with Iced Matcha Green Tea and an appetizer of Truffle Parmesan Fries (made with Parmesan Reggiano, Black Truffle Porcini, Cream and comes with a side of Sun Dried Tomato Aioli). Both were excellent and a perfect start to the day. The waitress recommended we try the Miyagi-San Burger which was made with Grass Fed Wagyu Beef and topped with Chili Mayo, Fried Egg, Furikake (seaweed), Caramelized Bacon and Crispy Onion Rings. It sounded crazy and it looked crazy.
Our search for the best burger in Vegas will never come to an end because there are always endless places to try. Although, the specialty burger joint may not be the cool food place any longer (especially with mediocre Mexican restaurants popping up everywhere now), there are still plenty of new and older places to explore.
Surprisingly, we've never made it to one of the older, fancy burger spots in Vegas, until now -- Le Burger Brasserie at Paris, likely best known for its $777 burger that's appeared on various Food Network and Travel Channel shows. Call us cheap, but we opted for a slightly less expensive burger. The Italian Burger (Le Italian) was only $12 on the menu, but thanks to our Total Rewards card we only paid $11.50. What a bargain!

After the Super Bowl, this VegasChatter member woke up at the Flamingo with a raging hangover. There are few things that don't involve pills that could fix the problem. Coffee and water weren't working so we went forward with the next best thing. Also, the thing that might give us a heart attack.
Against the warnings of all the negative reviews we've read, we decided to go to Burger Joint at Flamingo. Once there, it was nice to see that we were not alone with our tried and true hangover cure. Burger Joint has a burger called "The Cure" which takes our bacon, egg and cheeseburger and adds ham and sriracha aoli. Some people may look at this as a heart attack on a bun, but that's kind of what we were looking for.
Remember our 2010 Award for Best New Restaurant? We only awarded it about a month and a half ago to The Palazzo's barely opened burger joint, i♥burgers and it's about time we took a second look at it and explained their offerings a bit more.
To be frank, it has been a month already since our last burger there, but at the time the menu had already expanded and it was beginning to pull in the casual diners, like us. We didn't seek out i♥burgers for the purpose of reviewing it or anything; we were simply spying on the Christian Louboutin boutique around the corner in the Palazzo Shops, got really hungry and saw i♥burgers beckoning from the distance. And if it wasn't for the fact that we were flush with fresh cash after a good run on $1 blackjack at The Sahara (don't judge), we probably would've turned right around at seeing burgers priced at $14 on average, for just the burger. But we didn't. We sat, we ate and we took pictures, so let's continue...

Another burger joint? Sigh. That was our reaction when we first heard about i♥burgers opening inside the Palazzo, but then we got pretty excited when we heard the burgers would be garnished with things like three types of cabbage tossed in a ginger dressing, that there would be 18 types of fries and that the Bloody Mary would come with pork crackling.
When Mr Pappagiorgio stumbled on the soft opening, he was massively impressed, calling the burger “top to bottom fantastic”. And we even had some friends in town this week who also stumbled on it, and declared the burgers some of the best they’d had, and the staff superb. The only thing they didn’t like? The truffle fries, which were all crispy on the outside but kinda empty on the inside. But they told their server that and, you know what he did? He took it off the bill because they weren’t happy with it. Amazing!
We swung by the Palazzo yesterday to check off our weekly task of stalking the progress of i♥burgers and were happy to see that not only had remnants of Mainland had finally left the building but the doors were open for business!
We happened to stumble onto the joint’s soft opening. As in they had just taken their very first order only 50 minutes before our prying eyes wandered in. The restaurant is carrying a limited selection during the soft opening which they expect to last the next four days before blowing the lid off the full menu. We normally wouldn’t judge a restaurant that’s been open less than an hour, but since it was the best burger we had all day we’ll make an exception.

Not that we’re ones to blow our own trumpet here at VegasChatter (for example we’d never mention that we’re, ahem, up for nomination here), but we’d just like to mention that our business acumen knows no bounds when it comes to social media.
When we heard about i♥burgers coming to the Palazzo, we couldn’t help noting that although it was a sensible title, it, and the ilvburgers.com website that they’d registered, weren’t really very social media friendly, as we couldn’t see them going down very well on the old Twitter.
And what do you know? Today, the i♥burgers folk left a comment on the story to let us know we’d made a good point, and as a result, they’ve bought www.iloveburgers.com to make things easier. The new URL redirects to the original site. Excellent work! We’ll take a burger and a pork crackling Bloody Mary for that one please.

Can there ever be too many burger joints in Vegas? Probably not, to be fair, which is probably why the latest one, i♥burgers will probably do rather well.
It’s opening at the Shoppes at the Palazzo, in the spot where Mainland used to be, in the second week of December according to our spies, and promises to be a “modern take on the classic American burger joint”.
So far so boring, but wait! This actually looks good. Variety is the key here – plenty of burgers (from boring beef to vegan burgers, tuna and buffalo) mixed with toppings (cheeses, meats and even organic poached eggs). Upmarket is also the buzzword – the Slawesome Burger will be topped with a slaw of red, green and Napa cabbages, tossed with a ginger and garlic dressing.
Most importantly, though it’s promising the “best fry menu ever ” (18 types strong) which for those of us who’ve never heard of such a thing as a fry menu is surely some kind of manna sent from up on high. (And London-style chips and truffle butter-tossed potatoes merely confirm that theory.)

Yeah, the clientele is Wynn-y
Not that we have trust issues or anything, but when we heard the Wynn Las Vegas was adding more free WiFi spots on Friday, we thought we’d better check it out for ourselves. And specifically, check out this Zooza Crackers place, which we’d never actually eaten up, to make sure the fodder was up to scratch.
The verdict? Good WiFi and good fodder. Our laptop immediately connected to the Wynn Guest network (no password needed) and the connection was strong and fast, just as we like our internet.
