Does Carla Pellegrino's Meatball Spot Hit The Spot?
Chef Carla Pelligrino may be sporting a Tropicana jacket on the current season of Top Chef, but she's since flown the coop and set-up shop at Town Square. The Meatball Spot is her latest creation, something she's familiar with from her days in Rao's kitchen. That Caesars Palace eatery is known for their meatball, ya see. We may not have liked the balls at Rao's so much, but apparently others do. We didn't hold that against this Spot, though.
Meatball Spot has been open all of a Vegas minute, but already is the latest celebrity photo op as our inbox and the restaurant's Twitter feed have been lighting up almost daily with pics of actress Aimee Teegarden, boxer Zab Judah, MMA fighter Frank Mir, actor Jareb Dauplaise, champion boxer/actor/Broadway star Mike Tyson, and a Pawn Star in various stages of pointing, posing, or eating food. (Click the name to see the pic.)

Top Chef Seattle Gets A Brazilian
The tenth season of Top Chef (that's all it's been?) premieres Wednesday night on Bravo and this season's main Las Vegas connection is Executive Chef Carla Pellegrino of Rao's Bacio the Meatball Spot at Town Square. Given how little the previews have focused on her, we're going to call it right now that she wins the whole season and the producers are just trying to throw us off. There's a one in 21 chance we're right.
Given her big Vegas boobs personality, we're also going to go ahead and speculate that Bravo casts her in a villainess role this season. The premiere episode's first ten minutes are on the Bravo website now, but Carla isn't featured. More producer tricks.

Confirmed: DoubleTree Partnering With Trop

Well, that didn't take long.
Four days after telling you about a Vegas rumor that DoubleTree was taking over the Tropicana's hotel, it's now official.
USA Today reports that the Hilton brand will link itself with the Trop starting this January when the hotel's full name will become Tropicana Las Vegas – a DoubleTree by Hilton. But, while Hilton is reportedly happy about the partnership, others point out to USA Today that it is the Tropicana, after all:
