Vegas Shows: Does StubHub Step Up Or Fall Short?
Great deals are our drug of choice at VegasChatter. Half-price tapatizers, last-minute show tickets, and dollar hotel rooms. Saving a buck gets us all warm and tingly inside thinking we pulled a fast one on a faceless desk jockey somewhere.
Who actually makes out is a debate for another time but we may have just added another resource to our repertoire. Curious as to what last-minute UFC 125 tickets were going for last weekend, we hit up StubHub, our go-to for sold-out sports events and concerts.

Carlos Santana Kicks Off The Joint Residency Tonight

Hot on the heels of a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award (presented at the 20th Anniversary Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami), legendary music talent Carlos Santana kicks off his two-year residency at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Over the past four decades, Santana has sold more than 90 million records, and performed to more than 100 million people globally. He has won eleven Grammy Awards, with his 36th album, Supernatural, winning nine of those Grammys in 2000.
Titled to pay homage to Santana’s most successful body of work to date, Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits debuts tonight in a production designed by Frank The Plumber (recently responsible for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour set) exclusively for the new venue. Expect a nostalgic collection of career-spanning tracks, including Santana’s first charting single "Jingo” up to the latest hit, “Into the Night.”

Hard Rock is Rockin' Out With Their Renovations

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino might be one of the most popular casinos in Vegas, but after hosting some of the world’s best musicians and most famous bands – Motley Crue, Incubus, ZZ Top, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand – the Hard Rock needed to reinvent itself. It needed to become fit for a rock star, if you will.
The Hard Rock, now a part of boutique hotel collection Morgans Hotel Group, is currently undergoing a big time renovation: $150 million to redo 950 guest rooms (that's a rendering above), including an all-suite 15-story tower with upgraded amenities, and a 17-story tower, the Paradise Tower with approximately 60,000 square feet of convention space and 35,000 square feet of casino space.
The project also includes the expansion of the Hard Rock’s pool, Rehab (with a spa from nightlife queen Amy Sacco), and its music venue, The Joint which will re-open in a few weeks.
