A New Kind of 'Man Cave' is Now Open in Henderson

When most of us dudes hear about a “man cave,” we have visions of Jason Segal’s pad in “I Love You, Man,” a place where guys can watch sports, play video games, jam on musical instruments and, um, engage in other forms of self-appreciation.
Now, however, in the suburb of Henderson, the phrase is the name of a new cigar shop.
The shop, Man Cave Cigar Lounge, is located at 855 Seven Hills Dr., and opened sometime last month. In short, if you like cigars, it’s well worth the trip.
Inside, the joint feels like your basic frat house. It’s cavernous. It’s got dark colors. Oh, and cigars adorn just about every wall. All told, the collection rivals that of Caesars Palace's Casa Fuente (until now, the pre-eminent cigar shop in town). The benefit of the Man Cave, of course, is that because it has less overhead than its Strip-based competitor, just about all of the prices are lower.

Smoke Your Stogies in Mandalay Bay’s Foundation Room

Considering that Las Vegas is nicknamed Sin City, there’s certainly no shortage of places to light up and smoke a stogie with the guys.
In previous posts, we here at VegasChatter have highlighted Casa Fuente, the standout cigar shop/smoking lounge inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace (take note: they also serve wine, scotch and brandy).
One spot we’ve overlooked: The Foundation Room on the top floor of Mandalay Bay.

Admire the Hand-Rolled Beauties at Casa Fuente

· “A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.” Groucho Marx
· “Happiness? A good cigar, a good meal, a good cigar and a good woman - or a bad woman; it depends on how much happiness you can handle.” George Burns
Burns and Marx, great men of comedy who were forever associated with the “cigarro” as part of their routine, truly understood the beauty of the “small roll of tobacco leaf for smoking” as webster.com so simply puts it.
To the untutored nose, that’s what a cigar may only be, but for the rest of us who see a fine cigar as fine art, we know the best place to appreciate a stellar rolled one is in a cigar bar - here cigar aficionados can congregate and trade great stories centered around their obsession.
So let’s cut to the business at hand. While there are some amply suitable cigar bars in town, the high water mark that stands above them all is the Casa Fuente located inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. This is not up for discussion, ask any cigar smoker in town and they will confidently tell you that Casa Fuente simply rules the proverbial fine smoke roost.

Mojitos, Cigars, and Volcanoes at Rhumbar at The Mirage

If you're one of those people who had a bad experience with rum in college and swore the stuff off for life, then you might not be interested in visiting the new Rhumbar at The Mirage. But with prime patio viewing of the nightly volcano show and its own humidor, we think you should give Rhumbar the old college try.
A sister property to Tacos and Tequila at the Luxor, Rhumbar has opened across from the BLT Burger right near the hotel's south entrance, meaning it's easy to access from the Strip. Inside the funky modern bar, drenched in bright white with touches of lime throughout, drinkers can order up rum specialty cocktails, daquiries and other "classic libations." Rhumbar also has its own humidor where guests can pick from an impressive cigar selection. Just so you can really feel as if your in ole Havana.
