Numb Bar Is the Most Appropriately Named Part of Caesars Palace
Because you will get brain freeze, but the rooms are not very palacey, see?
Now that you’ve got over the brain freeze of the souvenir glass, it’s time to tell you a little more about what to expect from Numb at Caesars Palace.
Being snobby Caesars, although this is technically a frozen cocktail bar, it wants to be a little superior to your average frozen cocktail bar. Unlike Caesars and its shoddy room selection though, Numb Bar actually delivers.

The Search for the Elusive Dude Cocktail Continues
Still looking tasty in a sexy glass, but the green stripes disqualify you, sir.
We've been on a mission to find the stiffest, manliest, Vegas cocktail that we would be proud to sip, chug, drink, or slam. We first got sidetracked talking about beer before pondering what can be considered a manly drink.
Feedback on what can be considered a dude drink has been pretty consistent. Several have written back simply "Beer". One commenter waxed poetic about the virtues of whiskey while dressing the part. Another, not a dude but knows a dude, raved about Negronis and an LA cocktail-only bar that frowns on mixers. Another VC friend summed it up with "anything that requires substantial mixing by a bartender is not a guy drink".

In Search Of: The Ultimate Vegas Dude Drink
Magically delicious, but would it be manly enough to be considered for Ultimate Dude Cocktail (non-leprechaun division)?
Last week we started to dig into some of the Strip’s best watering holes where a guy can get a decent drink. We focused on extensive beer menus and you added some great spots we missed.
But where do the non-beer drinkers go? Or what about the nights the guys are looking for more than beer pong, shotguns, and century club? Where can we go for a stiff, manly man cocktail?

The Italians Like to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day Too

With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Wednesday this year (lame!), folks will probably be donning their green garb along with "Kiss Me I'm Irish" pins, plastic green bowler hats, green beads, shamrock stickers and the like this weekend in order to celebrate.
Expected places for drunken Erin Go Bragh revelry? Any Irish pub on the Strip which can be found in nearly every casino on the Strip. And don't even get us started on O'Sheas.
Want to celebrate the luck o' the Irish with a little more class? Hit up the Fusion Mixology Bar at The Palazzo. The bar, always up for creating festive cocktails, has now created the Height of Folly ($10), a frothy drink served with Irish whiskey, Irish cream and some syrup.

This is Steve Wynn's Favorite Drink
The next time you find yourself in the Eastside Lounge, the sexy lounge just off the casino, that overlooks the pool area at Encore Las Vegas, order yourself one of the Berry Infusion drinks. Why? Well, apparently it is Steve Wynn's favorite drink (so said our cocktail waitress.)
As you can imagine, the Berry Infusion is an incredibly fruity drink. It consists of Skyy Vodka and peach schnapps infused with fresh pineapple, blueberries and strawberries and costs $14. But hey, if it is good enough for Steve Wynn, it is good enough for you. 'Nuff said.

Be of Good Cheer with the Palazzo's Holiday Cocktails
Laguna Champagne Bar offers these Champagne Shooters.
In honor of the season, the mixologists at the Palazzo's new Fusion Bar and Laguna Champagne Bar—both of which opened last month—were asked to concoct the perfect holiday cocktails. Of course, the catch is that Fusion had to stay true to its Latin-inspired cocktail concept and Laguna had to use lots of bubbly in its drinks.
Find out after the jump what the merry mixologists came up with.

Foie Gras Meet Vodka. Drink, Then Vomit.

Imagine this in your martini.
PETA, please don’t give us hell, but we love foie gras. We also love martinis, maybe not quite to the Joan Collins extent, but when we do imbibe in spirits, it’s our cocktail of choice. Call us skeptical, but we’re not convinced the two world’s should ever collide, much less in the icy cold comfort of a tall, stemmed glass.
We subscribe to a strict policy of never mixing more than one fruit juice into a cocktail, unless it’s adding a squeeze of lemon or lime. Gawd forbid the co-mingling of meat (much less offal) with our liquor, not to mention the introduction of sugar and spice. The liquid horror.
So the burning question was to hurl or not to hurl, when we heard about the Foie Gras Martini ($18) at André's in Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Sigh. The sweet and savory concoction contains roasted foie gras, whole vanilla bean, honey, André's signature vodka and macerated Oregon huckleberries as the garnish.
If you just so happen to swing by André's and are brave enough to sip on one of these meaty delights, please post your feedback here. We’re mostly repulsed, but still kinda curious. Opinions, please.

More Excuses To Drink in Vegas: Fall Cocktails

Luxor's Noir Bar: Perfect for when it's cold outside.
Fall is in the air, which means it’s time for some autumn-inspired cocktails at some of the swankier lounges and nightclubs around Las Vegas.
Perhaps the best options are at the Downtown Cocktail Room at 111 Las Vegas Blvd., S., where punch (that’s right, folks, punch) has made a comeback just in time for football. A new fall menu debuted last week featuring three different punches.
This blogger’s personal favorite: the Downtown Milk Punch, a variation on that mentioned in Harry Craddock’s 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, which calls for brandy, green tea, milk, pineapple and baking spices. All orders come in glass bowls, of course, each of which yields 32 four-ounce pours. The price: $75.
