The Stripper Mobile Is Going on a Road Trip

Be proud, Vegas: your little darlin' has grown up good and proper, and now it’s about to fly the nest.

That’s right – the Stripper Mobile, which took the news bulletins by storm when it launched (and was quickly closed down) in November has captured the spirit of the nation. So much so that it’s going on national tour.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, TSM will tour all 15 states in which Déjà Vu –the club whose brainchild it was - owns strip clubs. Marketing man Larry Beard says its journey will be filmed with a view to broadcasting it on cable. Naturally, the girls will stop the grinding to pose by national monuments such as Mount Rushmore.

TSM is slated to leave Vegas on January 10, and weave its way around southern California, before going up to Oregon, where lax decency laws mean they can dance in the nuddy. Then they’ll hit Seattle, drive across the Midwest to New York down to Kentucky, Tennessee and Louisiana, before returning to the Strip after spending Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Let’s reflect on this for a second: the same Stripper Mobile that was taken off the road because it was deemed too lewd for Vegas is going to ply its wares Minnesota, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky.

One word. Amazing.

Could This Be the Return of the Stripper Mobile?

Could this be a reprieve for the Stripper Mobile? Friday brought the news that the Déjà Vu and Little Darlings clubs were killing the truck that was livening up the Strip with plexiglass pole-dancing action. The clubs wanted to be “good citizens”, and decided to pull it rather than risk incurring the wrath of two County Commissioners who opposed it.

But today, with the Stripper Mobile confined to a parking lot outside Déjà Vu and inhabited only by a bikini-clad skeleton, the owner of the truck, who hired it out to the clubs, said that he hasn’t given up the battle. So much so, in fact, that he has another client ready to take up residence in a fortnight.

And, a little bird told the Las Vegas Sun, the new client might even be another strip club. Presumably one whose owners don’t mind being bad, bad citizens.

What's So Wrong With The Stripper Mobile? Aside From The Obvious?

UPDATE: The Stripper Mobile is dead, says @ToplessVegas.

After a few hours in Vegas, you get accustomed to seeing scantily clad women, whether they be serving you a drink in the casino, laying out by the pool, dancing on the stage or plastered on a giant ad on a billboard on the Strip. And while prostitution is illegal in Clark County, strip clubs are not. So if you want to see even more skin, there are places for you to go.

The Deja Vu strip club sought out a new innovative way to find new business--creating a Stripper Mobile, a see-through truck with strippers pole-dancing in bikinis and using a PA system to make "announcements." Business is now booming, so they say, but even though this is Sin City, some people think the Stripper Mobile has gone too far.
