It's man vs. food, Vegas-style. After dishing on Monte Carlo's eight-pound burger challenge recently, we found that there's at least four other eating challenges on The Strip. You may be an idiot for trying, but in Vegas if you don't do at least one idiotic thing, why even bother coming?

How To Get Your 15 Minutes of Fame On The Strip
You'll likely have to put in quite a few minutes in hopes of making it on NBC's "Minute to Win It," but who knows, you might just have the chance to high five host Guy Fieri.
Reps from the primetime game show will be at Diablo's Cantina at Monte Carlo this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. in search of future contestants. We suggest ditching the stand-out-from-the-crowd, over-the-top costume. That idea never ends well.

Miss Philippines Wins Miss Universe...Hot Wings Eating Contest
Raise your hand if you think this should be a real event at the Miss Universe competition
As we mentioned last week, the Miss Universe pageant kicks off on August 23 at the Mandalay Bay but the girls have been making their way around Vegas for the past few days, including a stint at Diablo's Cantina where 10 to 15 of them participated in a hot-wing eating contest.
The winner? Venus Raj from the Philippines who scarfed down a total of 13 wings. Oh if only this were a real event in the Miss Universe competition, we'd all be winners here at VegasChatter! Here's what else is on in Vegas (and yes, it's mostly about Miss Universe girls):

Diablo's Cantina Is Hell (The Good Kind) On Earth
The Light Group has done it again. The nightlife group, which owns The Bank and Yellowtail in the Bellagio and Jet in the Mirage among other properties, opened Diablo's Cantina at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in October 2007 and the 13,000-square-foot two-level entertainment complex has been a hit ever since.
Located Strip-side with lots of open-air areas, the restaurant is perfect for outdoor dining and people-watching over the Strip. But the place can get a little rowdy. Aside from regularly showcasing live bands, Diablo's boasts more than 75 tequilas. With that amount of tequila, you can bet Diablo's gets rowdy on a regular basis.
