The Strip's Next Top Wedding: Amy Winehouse and Her Blaaake (Again)

March 10, 2010 at 2:53 PM | by juliab | 0 Comments

Ugh. Normally we’re (one of three) fans of Katie Price, but today we’re cursing her after the news that Amy Winehouse is planning on visiting Vegas and getting married – again – to her dealer ex-husband Blake Fielder Civil. Why did you have to give them the idea, Price-manator?

Last time, of course, it was Miami. And because that marriage went so swimmingly, they’ve decided to re-do it in America again. According to Holy Moly:

Amy doesn't want a traditional ceremony and wants it to be similar to their first wedding. She chose not to marry in Miami again because she thinks it could be a bad omen. They have agreed on Vegas.

But at least we can’t see the Wynn being defiled this time. Wino’s such a famewhore that she’ll want to go where she can be papped, plus they’ll most likely be too drongoed out to wrap (hoho) a magazine deal that would necessitate hiding themselves away. Also, they probably wouldn't do a cheap mag deal anyway, on the grounds that their-luv-aint-for-sale-or-somefing.

Ahoy! There's Love on the High Seas on the TI Pirate Ship

Where: 3300 S. Las Vegas Blvd. [map], 89109

So the whole idea of pirate-themed nuptials kinda creeps us out (unless you’re marrying Johnny Depp, of course), but a quick "pirate themed wedding" search on Google yielded more than a million results, so maybe we’re not exactly in the majority. Read about our fave pending pirate-themed nuptials here.

If eye patches and parrots are your thing, consider walking the (ahem) plank to legal coupledom with a wedding on board Treasure Island’s pirate “Song Ship” in Siren’s Cove.

Guests (puffy shirts and pegged pirate pants optional) sit along an outdoor patio overlooking Siren’s Cove, facing the Las Vegas Strip. The groom, best man and ship's captain board the pirate ship and wait for the bride’s dramatic debut along a rose-covered walkway. For the right amount of riches, rogue pirates will serve as witnesses and a pirate may even swing down from the crow’s nest to deliver the wedding rings. A live feed is available for those not able to attend in person.

And while it's your wedding and you can certainly wear whatever you like, we strongly urge you to consider the look that Brides.com has put forth for a TI wedding.

The Enchantment Wedding Package starts at $2,599 per couple, plus a $360 fee for Saturday or holiday ceremonies. Call the Wedding Chapel at Treasure Island at (702) 894-7700 for complete package details.

Fast Facts on Gettin' Hitched in Vegas

June 25, 2009 at 11:25 AM | by Erika Pope | 0 Comments

So, you want to get married in Vegas. Whether you’re propelled by the idea that true love must involve spontaneity and therefore a drive-thru wedding chapel is in order, or your relatives are spread all over the map and Vegas is as good as anyplace to convene them for your special day, here are a few practical tidbits you need to know:

1. Get a License Beforehand:
While you can get married at various wedding chapels 24 hours a day, as of a couple of years ago, you can no longer get a marriage license at any hour of the day or night. (Just think of the headache that would’ve saved Britney a few years back.) The Clark County Marriage License Bureau is still open from 8 a.m. until midnight daily, so you and your betrothed should be able to squeeze in a visit there.

2. Bring $60: That's how much the marriage license fee is in Clark County. So make sure you still have some twenties stashed in your pockets. And no, they don't take poker chips.
