You Can't Beat the $2 Beers at Triple 7's Happy Hour

We snicker at the Triple 7 Brewpubs’ gambling-inspired names for its microbrews – royal this, chip that, high roller this, jackpot that – but can’t scoff at its dirt cheap happy hour prices for its made-with-love microbrews and tasty pub grub. Here’s how far you can stretch your post-work buzz bucks at Main Street Casino Brewery Hotel's most redeeming venue:

Get Beer and Oysters on the Cheap at Seablue

Michael Mina may have expanded his Vegas empire with AMERICAN FISH, his new restaurant at Aria (which we sampled yesterday and could sum up in three words: oh. my. goodness) but he's still finding new ways to please at his other properties, like Seablue at MGM Grand.
Seablue has an incredibly affordable happy hour in the bar area from Sunday through Friday. Starting at 5:30pm and lasting through 7:30pm you can get $2 draft Stella Artois, $1 oysters and gulf shrimp from the raw bar, half price Lobster Corndogs ($7.50) and Salt And Pepper Calamari ($5).
It’s a fairly limited deal, but you want to gorge on beer and shellfish, it’s one of our favorite deals on the strip. Plus, who can resist the crusty, fried cornmealy goodness of Lobster Corndogs?

Unwind and Upload at Terrace Pointe Cafe's CES Happy Hour

Terrace Pointe Cafe at The Wynn made our list yesterday for places with free WiFi in Vegas so it makes perfect sense that the bar is doing a Happy Hour every day of CES.
From 3 to 6pm, beer and specialty cocktails like margaritas and sangrias are $7 while tapas range from $4 (guac and chips) to $10 (triple play angus beef sliders). Plus you can take out your laptops and not converse with anyone IRL because this time of the year, everyone's doing that!

Welcome to SushiSamba's Happy Hour: $5 Mojitos and $4 Aperitivos
Food porn alert: we’re slightly obsessed with SushiSamba. We've eaten our way through the locations in New York, Miami and of course, here in Vegas at The Palazzo.
But we have to remind ourselves that the next time we pop in, to do it between the hours of 4 and 7pm, Sundays through Thursdays for Happy Hour. $5 mojitos. $5 caipirinhas. $4, $5 and $6 aperitivos, priced according to the hour you visit (so your salt and pepper squid costs a miniscule $4 if you get there first thing). Could it get any better?
Er, yes it could. From 11pm to 1am, they drop those cocktail prices down again. This could easily be our new obsession. Is rehab in our future for 2010? Quite possibly.

Every Wednesday is Cinco de Mayo at Tacos and Tequila

We have no problem pretending it’s Cinco de Mayo every Wednesday night. Heck, if the world was fueled with weekly doses of tequila and deep-fried tortillas, it would probably be a better place. Just saying.
So, we’re more than happy to play along with Mischeive Wednesdays at Tacos and Tequila in the Luxor.
Every Wednesday night from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. resident DJ Ernan will be spinning an eclectic mix of rock-n-roll, Latin and house beats, while bar-hoppers suck down drink specials like $5 house margaritas, $5 Hornitos shots and $5 Tecaté.

Get an Epicurean’s Buzz at Town Square’s The Grape
Across from the mammoth movie theater at the south-south-Strip Town Square open-air shopping mall, you’ll find The Grape, one of Las Vegas’ most sophisticated and, dare we say, reliably good wine bars. Because we’ve found Town Square a confusing place to get around, look for the big Rave Motion Pictures sign on the west side of the building (towards I-15) and park there.
The Grape offers numerous great ways to sample its lengthy wine list, which is helpfully organized for the wine-wary into eight, easy-to-navigate categories. Numbers 1 through 6 take you from light-bodied, fruity whites all the way through to the full-bodied reds with “intense, berry taste.” Category 7 includes sweet wines while Number 8 features sparkling wines and champagne.
All wines by the glass are available in either tasting-size portions, ranging from $5 to $9 or full-pour glasses starting at $9 and going all the way up to $18. Cheeses, charcuterie small plates and desserts are featured on a concise but diverse menu, and prices there range from $6 to $25.
Happy hour is offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and features $5 glasses of wine and $2 sliders. On Thursdays, free wine tastings are held from 6 to 8 p.m.

Add Some Spice to Your Life at Origin India

We have a steady roster of restaurants we like to frequent in Vegas, but have a shining new contender for the mix. Shuffle across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to experience the innovative Indian cuisine of Executive Chef Kuldeep Singh of Origin India Restaurant & Bar.
Singh graduated with top culinary honors at India’s finest – The Institute Of Hotel Management in his hometown of Meerut (about 40 miles northeast of New Delhi) and has kitchen-hopped everywhere from Ireland to London to India.
Singh doesn’t take your standard greasy gut bomb, all-you-can-eat Indian buffet approach to cuisine. Far from it, instead creating complex dishes that layer spices, herbs and flavors like filo-wrapped fresh Atlantic ‘black pearl’ sea scallops in lime and chili, crisp fried with beetroot and olive chutney and corn-fed chicken thigh tikka, marinated overnight in roasted cumin and chili yogurt served with coriander and basil sauce that reflect his world experiences.

Stay Cool and Save Money With These Five Happy Hours

Hot summer weather tends to bring out our inner Betty Ford. Give us a cold beer or cocktail and a kicking air-conditioning system, and we can struggle through the way-too-hot season. That’s why we’re always on the prowl for decent Happy Hour deals to enable our stay cool and sedated efforts while saving money. (Don’t’ blame us – we can’t help but multi-task.)
Here are five happy hours that will help you get liquid locked and loaded and survive the summer heat:

Happy Hour at (An Almost) Hidden Gem, The West Wing Bar

If you’re looking for a bar that’s chic but subdued, sophisticated yet welcoming and – most importantly – has a great happy hour deal, West Wing Bar at the MGM Grand is worth a visit.
Despite its somewhat unconventional location on the walkway for guests staying at the MGM’s West Wing, it’s won rave reviews by Yelp reviewers, among others. Meanwhile, it’s struck what seems to be the perfect balance between that all-important, aspirational air of exclusivity and actual everyman accessibility.

Tie One On At Blue Martini’s Daily Happy Hour
None of this weekdays-only happy hour nonsense, thank you. No, we’re thirsty, our nerves are a little frayed by this endlessly troubled economy and we’d like a premium cocktail at a semi-affordable price, seven days a week.
Thankfully, Blue Martini is there for us. Well, it’s way over there, anyway, on Las Vegas Boulevard south of the Strip inside the lively Town Square shopping complex. On the second story and across from Town Square’s movie theaters, Blue Martini is one of the valley’s fave spots for networking and burning off a little work-related (or job-hunting-generated) steam.
From 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. daily, you get half-price food and discounted drinks off of one of the most imaginative drinks menus in town. Why not try a “Sweet Tea” martin (Teka Tee vodka, pink lemonade and fresh-squeezed lemon), “The Good Life” (Bacardi Grand Melon, sugar-free Red Bull and a splash of cranberry) or a “Pear-Tini” (Grey Goose La Poire vodka, Amaretto, Rose's Pear, splash of pineapple and sour mix).

Hard Rock's Center Bar is the Center of Happiness During Happy Hour

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas where you can get a drink at any time of the day or night. In the casinos, you can flag down a cocktail waitress during your intense time on the slots or at the tables or you can saddle up to a center bar.
Usually, these center bars located in the middle of the casino are open around the clock serving gamblers drinks whether it's 5am or midnight. But your time at a center bar might be better spent if you hit it up during a Happy Hour.
The Hard Rock's> Center Bar delivers a pretty lengthy happy hour from 4 to 8pm, seven days a week. Here you can get get two for one call drinks and $2 domestic beers.
Sitting at the Center Bar, observing all the craziness going on in the casino while drinking cheap, quality drinks...what could be better (besides participating in the craziness yourself?)

Every Day Has a Happy Hour at The Koi Lounge

If you went to Spy on Vegas' open bar at Koi Lounge last week, you might have enjoyed the dimly lit, sultry yet still casual atmosphere of the lounge which is connected to the Koi sushi restaurant inside Planet Hollywood. But if their dishes and drinks were a bit much for your price range, consider going back there during Koi's Happy Hours from 5 to 7 pm every day. Yes, that's right. Every day. Even on weekends.
The lounge's signature drinks, like the Yin and Yang (made with Citron Buddha's Hand vodka) and the Asian Pear along with appetizers are half price. If you stay long enough on a Friday or Saturday, you might run into their weekend late night happy hour from 10 to midnight. Another Yin and Yang for our yang? Don't mind if we do.
