The Hard Rock's Paradise Tower Disappoints a Longtime Hard Rock Devotee
It officially opened almost a month ago (July 31), so we thought we’d check in on what the rest of you have to say about the Hard Rock’s new Paradise Tower rooms.
There’s not much yet posted on TripAdvisor to report about the new rooms. But here’s one perspective from a longtime HRH devotee who stayed at the Paradise Tower soon after its opening:
The room was small, the shower was designed so bad that I was shocked at how hard I had to work to get in the thing and get the water turned on. Back in the day when Peter owned the place they understood customer service, those days are over. I am a 23 year music industry vet. I can tell you that the hip kids are staying at the Wynn.
Ouch.

Almost Paradise: Inside the Hard Rock's Paradise Tower
We recently spent a night at the new Paradise Tower at the Hard Rock Hotel and despite being in love with the newness of the rooms, the rest of the Hard Rock experience is still lacking--unless you're just there to get absolutely wrecked at Rehab, the raunchy Sunday pool party. Then you'll find yourself surrounded by plenty of people with the same plan.
We wrote about the stay over on HotelChatter and we'll recap some of the highlights for you here.

Inside The Stratosphere Hotel: Cheap, But Noisy
We had a nice enough time (barring the odd crime) living up the four star hotels last week, but when we needed to extend our Vegas stay over the weekend, rates had shot up (maybe it was the Rod Stewart groupies filling up the posh hotels - he played Saturday). We looked at the Stratosphere, thinking it’d be cheapo, but it was throwing up nearly $80 for the Friday night and $115 for the Saturday.
But Hotwire was showing a three star hotel in the North Strip for $54 on the Friday and $75 on the Saturday. Checking on Betterbidding.com we were pretty sure it was the Strat, and booked it. And sure enough, it was.

An Open Letter to Circus Circus

Dear Circus Circus :
You have us so conflicted. Your renovated rooms are nice. Really nice. Surprisingly nice. The dark wood furniture, the plush bedding, the flat screen, the granite in the bathroom. If we didn’t know better, we’d think we were farther south down the Strip, in something with an Italian-sounding name, perhaps.
The people that work in the hotel? Very nice, friendly, and helpful too. Even the food—super cheesy pizza for dinner in the Pizzeria and a light, fluffy egg white omelet with a generous helping of fresh melon on the side the next morning at the Casino Cafe—was pretty good.
The people who stay with you, however... they are another story. We nearly lost it on a group of three men behind us during check-in who felt entitled to continually make comments about how kids shouldn't be allowed in the check-in line. Ummm, if you don't want to see kids running around, don't stay somewhere with circus in the name, let alone twice. Pony up the extra hundred-or-so bucks and go stay at the Wynn.
