Our Residency At Caesars Palace Was Not A Resounding Success

Where: 3570 Las Vegas Blvd South [map], 89109
March 2, 2010 at 7:31 PM | by juliab | 1 Comment

Just like Matt Goss, it’s always been our dream to take up residency at Caesars Palace. Unfortunately for us, unlike Matt Goss, our musical prowess means that our residency will have to be purchased. So when we saw a hotel that we were pretty sure was Caesars going for $72 on Hotwire, we knew our time had come.

Inside The Vdara Hotel's Deluxe Suite

December 2, 2009 at 12:28 PM | by juliana | 1 Comment

Here it is, what you've been waiting for: Vdara Hotel and Spa porn.

Yesterday we detailed the step-by-step process of checking into Vdara and now we follow it up with our video tour and some more in-room shots. The room we are in is the starting room category, a Deluxe Suite. The square footage is 582-sq. ft. with large windows taking up the entire side of the room. Too bad our view is of the back of the Bellagio.

When you walk in, you are essentially in the kitchenette which has a small dining table with two chairs, a microwave, stovetop and a mini-refrigerator that has minibar goods on one side and free space to store your own minibar goods on the other.

Beyond the kitchenette is a small seating area with a comfy sofa that pulls out to a queen-sized bed and an interesting media center. This dark wood column is planted in the middle of the room and has a giant flat-screen TV on both sides--one for folks laying in bed, one for folks sitting on the couch. Extending from the column is a desk with a sweet media hub to plug in all your gadgets.

The bathrooms are long and narrow but still fit a vast vanity sink, a good-sized shower and a large soaking tub with a handheld nozzle. The bath products are, much to our disappointment, Aveda which always leaves our hair and skin very dry.

Inside a Luxury Suite at The Palazzo Las Vegas

One of the reasons we like the rooms at The Venetian and The Palazzo is simply the space. These suites are huge, a total of 725-sq. ft. with a separate seating area and a large bathroom that features both a shower and a bathtub. Seriously, don't stay here alone. All the extra space will make you sad.

The rooms also feature some sweet amenities like remote-controlled Roman shades and three flat-screen TVs, one of which is in the bathroom.

The room decor, however, is a little odd. It's like something of a cross between Italianate and reluctantly modern, with a pinch of retro throw in. It's just strange. And mostly dark, which is a contrast to the light, airy and happy main lobby. Then again, dark colors hide stains rather well.

Inside Hotel32's New Must-Book Rooms at The Monte Carlo

Where: 3770 Las Vegas Boulevard South [map], 89109
August 12, 2009 at 8:22 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Yesterday, we gave you a quick rundown on what to expect inside Hotel32 atop the Monte Carlo and today we're giving you some room porn to admire as well as a video of the Studio rooms (see above.)

Whatever your thoughts are about the Monte Carlo (so-so casino, lack of cool restaurants or nightclub), staying at Hotel32 is an entirely different experience than staying in rooms on the 31st floor and under. A dedicated suite assistant, bypassing the long lines at check-in, pre-stocked minibars and access to the Hotel32 lounge with its drinks, food and views of CityCenter are just some of the perks you receive while staying here. And speaking of housekeeping cart kleptomaniacs, Hotel32 features Kiehl's bath products. Aaaaaahhh.

However, all rooms are not created equal here. Heck, all rooms don't even look alike.

Almost Paradise: Inside the Hard Rock's Paradise Tower

Where: 4455 Paradise Rd [map], 89109
August 12, 2009 at 6:12 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

We recently spent a night at the new Paradise Tower at the Hard Rock Hotel and despite being in love with the newness of the rooms, the rest of the Hard Rock experience is still lacking--unless you're just there to get absolutely wrecked at Rehab, the raunchy Sunday pool party. Then you'll find yourself surrounded by plenty of people with the same plan.

We wrote about the stay over on HotelChatter and we'll recap some of the highlights for you here.

Inside a One-Bedroom Suite at Trump Las Vegas

Where: 2000 N Fashion Show Dr [map], 89109
August 11, 2009 at 1:19 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

In continuing our Las Vegas hotel room education, we'd like to show you this video which was shot last August at the Trump Las Vegas. The Trump is located next to Fashion Show Mall so it's not squarely on the Strip but it's not that far from it either.

The rooms are priced very reasonable for all that you get--one bedroom suites with full kitchens. The spa and the pool area are blissfully serene and most important, quiet. If you hate the Vegas pool party scene, you will find peace at The Trump pool.

But after our stay there last year, the bad far outweighed the good.

Inside a Panoramic Suite at Encore Las Vegas

When Encore Las Vegas opened last December, HotelChatter was eager to get inside and see what the follow-up to Wynn Las Vegas was like. And it did not disappoint.

Overall, the room, with its separate living area, has an upgraded Venetian feel even though it did seem a bit smaller than the 700 square feet advertised. The black, white and cream color scheme is very classy as is the room in general.

Perk: You can control the lighting, the sheers, and the drapes from your bed thanks to this nifty bedside contraption that feels very seventies. Its best feature: The swivel HDTV--niiiice.

Tomorrow is Ditch Friday at The Palms and if you're thinking about going well then, you need a hotel room.

Sure, you could pick a regular room at The Palms which are currently going for $199 a night on Friday and Saturday and $99 for tonight. Or you could SPLURGE and get a room at the all-suite Palms Place next door.

This is a video of a two-bedroom suite that HotelChatter shot last September when Palms Place was just about four months old. The room is actually just a studio and a one bedroom suite where you can close an outer door to the two rooms.

Inside The Stratosphere Hotel: Cheap, But Noisy

Where: 2000 Las Vegas Blvd [map], 89104
August 5, 2009 at 11:42 AM | by londontown | 2 Comments

We had a nice enough time (barring the odd crime) living up the four star hotels last week, but when we needed to extend our Vegas stay over the weekend, rates had shot up (maybe it was the Rod Stewart groupies filling up the posh hotels - he played Saturday). We looked at the Stratosphere, thinking it’d be cheapo, but it was throwing up nearly $80 for the Friday night and $115 for the Saturday.

But Hotwire was showing a three star hotel in the North Strip for $54 on the Friday and $75 on the Saturday. Checking on Betterbidding.com we were pretty sure it was the Strat, and booked it. And sure enough, it was.

Inside the Renovated Rooms of Treasure Island

Where: 3300 Las Vegas Boulevard South [map], 89109
June 30, 2009 at 4:29 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

While there seems to be mutiny below Treasure Island at Social House, upstairs the renovated rooms at TI are coasting along nicely. We spent two nights at Treasure Island last weekend and lived to tell the tale.

Our standard room was a hefty $189 for Friday night and $209 for Saturday night. While we liked the newness of the rooms, we thought that was a bit much to pay for such a so-so casino. Then again, we had easy access to the Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn, Encore and the Fashion Show Mall. Since TI was the cheapest out of all the hotels close-by, we guess it must have been a deal.

Enjoy the video now and we'll bring you a full review tomorrow.

Inside The Panorama Suite at Planet Hollywood

Where: 3500 Las Vegas Boulevard South [map], 89109
June 29, 2009 at 8:33 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Last week, we told you how we got this crazy upgrade to a Panorama Suite at Planet Hollywood and today, we can show what this suite was like inside. We don't really need to tell you again but we will anyways--the suite was massive.

There were two separate seating areas, a small dining area, a powder room, a wet bar, a giant master bedroom and a peek-a-boo jacuzzi tub that allows you to bathe while you watch the TV in the main seating area. And there were floor to ceiling windows running along the Strip-facing side of the suite, offering killer views of the Bellagio fountains and Paris Las Vegas.

Inside the GO Rooms at The Flamingo

Where: 3555 Las Vegas Blvd S [map], 89109
April 7, 2009 at 6:41 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Did you know that The Flamingo Las Vegas, aside from hosting real flamingos, Donny & Marie, and an intoxicating coconut aroma on the casino floor, also has some nifty high-tech rooms?

These GO rooms have been completely renovated and feature mod decor, flat-screen TVs with iPod docks and DVD players, remote-controlled curtains, mirrored TVs in the bathroom and blazing fast wireless internet (sadly, not free.) Each room also comes with a toiletry pack from Gilchrist and Soames that goes beyond shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.

HotelChatter stayed in one of these rooms the other month and shot this video for your viewing pleasure.

GO rooms were available this weekend starting at $170 a night on the hotel's website but Expedia has them for $146 a night, including a $30 resort credit. Warning: You must like pink if you want to stay in one of these rooms.
