Considering that Las Vegas is nicknamed Sin City, there’s certainly no shortage of places to light up and smoke a stogie with the guys.
In previous posts, we here at VegasChatter have highlighted Casa Fuente, the standout cigar shop/smoking lounge inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace (take note: they also serve wine, scotch and brandy).
One spot we’ve overlooked: The Foundation Room on the top floor of Mandalay Bay.

Vegas' concert scene died down over the last few years, only to emerge bigger, better, louder, but most importantly: diverse. The openings of venues like Beauty Bar and Hard Rock Hotel's three-venue split, along with more shows in clubs at the Palms for hip hop acts? Vegas is suddenly becoming a hot live music destination again, and not just for big ticket Baby Boomer acts (Streisand, Midler, et al) Bookers are noticing, too: they're touring their acts in Vegas en masse; a look at one week's schedule? Insane.

'On the Verge of Bein' Obscene': Purple Reign at House of Blues

Got a hankering for the good old days of the 80s? Then Purple Reign, a Prince tribute show held at Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues every Sunday night just might be the tonic. Both flashy and accurate, Purple Reign manages to prove the old adage that imitation can prove to be a funky, highly addictive form of flattery (yes we’re paraphrasing, but you have to do that sometimes with shopworn cliches).
Led by an eerily effective Prince look-alike named Jason Tanner, the group spends nearly two hours performing a tight set of some of Prince’s best known hits, “When Doves Cry,” ‘Purple Rain,” “1999,” “Little Red Corvette,” just to name a few.
