Mike Hammer: Comedy Magic is a little dynamo of a show. Currently ranked #24 out of 526 Vegas attractions by TripAdvisor readers, it regularly fills the Canyon Club Theater at the Four Queens. That's no small feat, considering the frequency that downtown shows come and go. Along with Golden Nugget's Gordie Brown, Mike Hammer: Comedy Magic has entrenched itself as a long-term fixture on Fremont Street.
Mike’s improvisational humor and sleight-of-hand are as sharp as his trademark vertical hairstyle. He's a frequent guest on talk shows, does MMA ring announcing, and has been a game show emcee (MC Hammer?). In a city filled with magic shows, this one manages to make the art of illusion cool, sexy and hilarious. He calls it “Getting Hammer’d.”
You never know what’s going to come out of Mike’s mouth (sometimes, it’s a string of razor blades), but we took a chance and asked him a few questions, anyway. And, we couldn’t resist the urge to throw in a “Magic Mike” reference. Considering his show's final illusion involves him being onstage in his boxers, he deserves to be in the running for next year's Hunkiest Headliners.
We showed you a tour of Mandalay Bay's Daylight Beach Club, now let's head indoors and take a look at LIGHT. A co-venture between the Light Group and Cirque du Soleil we've been very curious about their promise of a whole new spectacle. We'd also hoped, by now, to have read some independent online reviews. Because we wonder what others are thinking.
You name a place LIGHT, you better have the visuals down. They have. Based on our limited preview, we believe this is the best lighting set-up in town. Particularly if you have a short attention span. They do not stop moving.
The DJ stands in the middle. Video displays completely cover the huge wall behind them and digital screens are even on the ceiling. Add lasers, etc. and you will be blinded in a good way. The Cirque factor comes from aerialists and dancers behind the screens on the wall. They can also fly in over the top of the crowd. We've not seen that part.

The five-story restaurant-slash-club-slash-lounge welcomed a sea of oontz lovers for its inaugural evening. Food lovers, however, must wait 'til May 3 to beat it to Hakkasan's resto for "modern Cantonese cuisine."
April may be bringing showers to some parts, but here in Vegas, the month will bring the debuts of new pool, nightlife, chapel and dining experiences. Here's what to expect and when, in no particular order:
1. Bagatelle Beach (Tropicana)
Opening: April 13
Where once execs had hoped for a Memorial Day 2012 debut, Bagatelle Beach will finally open at Tropicana nearly one year later on April 13.
You are not going to believe your eyes the first time you walk into LIGHT, the nightclub experience currently under construction in Mandalay Bay. We already knew that things were going to get Cirque-y (Cirque is partners with The Light Group in its creation), but now we're getting our first look at just what that means. And, that pretty much means you are not going to believe your eyes.
LIGHT released two renderings of the mind explosions that will happen once we step inside starting April 26. We can't even begin to tell you what to expect because we're still taking this all in ourselves. And, you haven't even seen the bigger versions yet. Head to our Facebook page to see these renderings super-sized. But, take a moment to prepare yourself, first. Here's how Cirque/Light Group explain it:

Something mega is happening behind these walls at Mandalay Bay. This new construction plywood is covering the resort's theater, box office and will-call desk in preparation for the May arrival of Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson-themed show. A "Mega Show," they call it. And, the other new word of the day is "egress" as visitors walking past the sports book, or on the way to THEhotel or Mix, are currently navigating a temporary tunnel.

The list of anticipated openings for 2013 is already an impressive one. We could list off every single one, but we'd rather tell you about the ones that matter. This year will bring more new restaurants, hotel concepts, attractions, nightlife, and dayclub options. Here are the 10 we consider game changers:
1. Downtown Grand (November)
2. The Linq (December)
We're still not sure if we love it, hate it, or meh it, but The Linqth cometh, and will be sure to cause many a tourist to take a detour away from The Strip.

A walk by the recently shuttered bar-slash-restaurant revealed that a quickie renovation isn't being kept too tightly under wraps. The door was wide open and nothing covered the windows, either. When we
pressed our nose up to the glass strolled by, a lone employee worked on the flooring. A sea of red still reigned inside.

Five years after shuttering, comes word that Light nightclub will return to The Strip. This time, the Light Group nightspot will trade Bellagio for Mandalay Bay, upper and lower case for all caps (LIGHT) and will throw Cirque du Soleil into the mix, too.
With a catchy 'see what we did there' tagline -- After Dark, There Is Light -- the club will flip the switch (hey, we can do that, too!) in March 2013:
