Ice Skate On The Strip, Ski In The Mountains

Las Vegas may have all the fixin's for Thanksgiving, but with an expected high of 72 degrees for the holiday, it definitely won't feel like it. While the temperature may not reflect the time of year (outside of Vegas, anyway), folks can still enjoy two traditional winter activities while in Vegas -- ice skating and skiing.
The Venetian/Palazzo welcomed ice skating back to The Strip this past Sunday. Paying guests can take to the ice daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. through January 6. And, starting November 30, The Cosmopolitan will offer ice skating, too. Also, daily, but times will vary from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. through 11 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. And, yes, you'll need to pay here as well. Expect to fork over between $10 and $20 dollars at either resort, depending on what discounts you can score and whether you'll need to rent skates, too.

How To Find White Stuff in Vegas (No, Not That White Stuff)

How to grab some powder in Vegas this winter. Again, not that kind.
Starting this Friday, Vegas visitors will be able to catch a show, and catch some snow, too. The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort will crank up the ski lifts for another winter of powdery fun this weekend.
Tourists may be surprised to learn that gorgeous ski slopes can be found just an hour away from downtown Vegas during this most wonderful time of the year.
The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, a little known that gem that even a lot of locals don't know about, offers 11 trails, three chair lifts and a freestyle park for snowboarders.
