It’s all over! Matt Goss has launched at Caesars, and now that our stalking waiting is over, we’re not quite sure what to do with ourselves. Treat this review as step one in our Weaning Yourself Off Goss twelve step program.

(First, though, we’d like to remind you that on Thursday, we told you that we had a feeling that the luscious Mel B (swoon) would be joining the G-man on stage but the boring Leona Lewis wouldn’t. We were right on both counts. Just sayin’.)

Matt Goss Merchandise Is Taking Over Caesars

T-4 days to the glorious Goss debut, and as well as the tarting up of Cleo’s Barge that’s finally got underway, the other big news is that the merch has arrived.

When we asked before at the shop nearest the Barge when the Goss guff would be arriving, we were they wouldn’t be stocking it till 12 March itself. But on Thursday, we found ourselves walking by a mannequin with “dirty” emblazoned across its bosom, and we had an inkling that if we looked round the back we would see “virgin”.

And we were right. There’s a whole load of t-shirts – taking up two whole segments of the shop (like half the front wall). In fact there’s pretty much one for every day of the week.

No sniggering at the headline either, please

It’s T-11 days now to the glorious Goss debut. Excited? We are. So much so that our hands trembled this morning as we opened the first window on our Goss-advent calendar. (Kidding. Kinda.)

Guess who else is excited? Caesars. So much so that they’ve refurbed Cleopatra’s Barge finally got round to launching their Matt Goss package. The Gossmeister told us this was planned in January, and we’ve been hounding them for details ever since. And on Friday, they finally released it. Progress!

And there you were thinking butter wouldn’t melt in his hot gentlemanly mouth – turns out Matt Goss is a saucepot. So much so that he actually asked us to tell the world that he likes hookers (note to lawyers: not in that way, obviously).

We're On the Billboard At Caesars (Oh, As Is Matt Goss)

It was as we were at the Sports Illustrated launch last week that we noticed that Caesars had finally got around to adding Matt Goss to their video roster on the billboard.

There we were, twiddling our thumbs as we waited for the models to arrive and do their ridiculous pseudo Beatles walk outside the Mirage, when we noticed sexy Mayor Goodman looking glum by himself. And then we noticed the Goss in the background to keep him company. Two of our favourite Vegas men in the same shot. Chouette!

Performing at the Palms. A far cry from Bros.

A few days ago our housemate was talking to some Brits over in Vegas, and was telling them about the Strip’s newest Singing Sensation That Is Matt Goss (™). Their response? Matt Goss from Bros? At Caesars Palace? As if.

People, we know it can be hard to think past the bleached hair, the fringed leather jackets and the ripped denim of his boyband days. In fact, we know this because we too were unbelievers, and we only had our epiphany when we went to see his show as a joke.

Last week we told Goss newcomers a few home truths about the sleekmeister’s shady 80s past, so we thought it only fair to provide the same service for those of you who last saw him in Bros. Expunge that from your memories, and start with a clean slate, because he’s been through five major changes since 1991.

It’s official – the Gossmeister is the talk of the Strip, and in honor of him, until his show opens, we’re officially renaming Mondays Matt Goss Mondays. This week: what America needs to know about him. Because he aint always looked like this.

Call it the Emperor’s new clothes effect. As the excitement from the Matt Goss Caesars launch died down over the weekend we had several people shuffling up to us and asking us, as token Brits, who exactly the Gosster was. Each said exactly the same thing – we’ve heard/seen that he’s awesome, but where had he sprung from? Sit back and let us inform you.
