Vegas may be taking a long shot gamble on the 2020 Olympics.
GamesBids.com is reporting that unnamed Vegas representatives have submitted a bid to be the 2020 host city, despite the U.S. Olympic Committee's veto. The website, which tracks news on all Olympic bids, says it's seen a copy of the August 26 letter and quotes from it extensively here.
The USOC has said that it will not submit a bid, from any US city, for the 2020 games due to a "revenue sharing dispute with the International Olympic Committee."
The last Olympics to take place on US soil were the 2002 winter games held in Salt Lake City.
