Pantry, a 24-hour cafe, will debut this September in the space that once hosted Caribe Cafe as well as B.B. King's. The eatery is meant to evoke a family kitchen with hardwood floors, cabinets filled with fine china and servers dressed in denim and flannel shirts. (Hopefully, denim will be of the mom or dad variety or else it won't be like this writer's family kitchen.)

He makes cake like a boss on the east coast and, starting October 7, reality TV star baker Buddy Valastro will bring a bit of Jersey to Venice. That's the official date set for the debut of Buddy V's at Venetian/Palazzo, an Italian-American restaurant concept.
The theme (yes, the press release touts a theme) is "raviolis to cannolis." Normally, this is where we would roll our eyes, but instead, this dining spot has our full attention. Not due to the rhyme, but because of who Buddy is teaming up with in the kitchen -- local restauranteurs Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla. Together, they brought us the much (and still) raved about off Strip eatery, Honey Salt, last year. And, before that, Chef Kim helmed Society Cafe at Wynn/Encore. And, if you haven't heard, they'll also have a hand in the food at Downtown Grand.

Pizza. It's what's for dinner. And, for lunch. And, what the people want.
Already home to Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria and Cucina, CityCenter will serve up a slice of a different kind this spring with FIVE50, a "pizza bar" by acclaimed chef Shawn McClain. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Chef McClain already has a CityCenter resto, Sage.

SHe is marketing itself as the anti-breastaurant, a steakhouse with the ladies in mind. Oh, yeah, and with a fashion runway, rain curtains with 3D projections, cryogenic fog and seductive female performers upstairs in the formerly shuttered Eve nightclub space, too. (This is why Magic Mike failed, people. No seductive females on stage for the ladies.)
But, what if SHe goes over as well as Bic for Her, instead? When Buzz Feed mentioned the news a few days ago, readers responded negatively for the most part. (Snarkily, but negatively and with quite a few guys questioning if the steakhouse was really for women. We did add the one positive comment, too.):
