If You Aren't A Motley Crue Fan, Stay Away From The Hard Rock
The Hard Rock's gonna be Motley Crüe's Frankenstein beginning today when the Feelgood hands of doctors Neil, Lee, Sixx, and Mars launch their much anticipated three week residency. The band is known for their over-the-top live shows anyhow, but the Crue is kicking it up a hundred notches for The Joint.
Not many intimate details about the actual show have been released to date other than that fans should expect a full-blown Cirque meets rock concert. Band members have hinted at transforming every inch of the Joint into performance space rather than being limited to playing the stage at one end. We're picturing Tommy Lee banging away above us, below us, and to both sides of us. In an interview with the Las Vegas Sun, Vince Neil revealed more elements of the two hour show: pyrotechnics, aerialists, strippers dancers, wild video displays, a rollercoaster drum set and Little Crüe.

Hungry And Thirsty At The Hard Rock? There's An App For That
Have you been on a heater at the tables or lighting up the bonus reels when hunger pains hit? Or the throat goes dry waiting for the cocktail waitress to circle back 'round to quench that thirst. But yet this table's hot, you can't leave - that's just throwing money away! Maybe the desert sun is beating down on you poolside, you need a burger (veggie that teeny weeny bikini reminds you) but your cash is drying out in the room. Now there's an app for that, at least at the Hard Rock.
On a recent trip to the 'Rock we spotted signs for Pago, an app that allows you to order and pay for goods and services throughout the casino. We assumed it was lame took note to dive into it later and now that we did, it might be worth checking out. Especially if you spend a lot of time at HRH, the only Vegas spot to offer the service so far.

Where To Get Your Breakfast and Late Night On During Restaurant Week
Last week we fried our brain poring over Restaurant Week menus and statisticalizing (it's a word but don't look it up, take our word for it) our plan of attack. As we observed then, the RW website writer-upper has been busy adding menus for your browsing pleasure. In fact, Aria has bested Bellagio with ten restaurants now listed, the Cosmopolitan is at eight (up from three), and -- sigh -- Fleur is still nowhere to be seen.
Alas, enough number crunching, on to our recommendations. We pulled our selections from old standbys, new spots worth trying, and, most importantly, a good Restaurant Week deal. Let's start with breakfast and late night, the easiest categories since they have the fewest options. It's the new kid, go easy on it; we're just happy it's joined the party. Here's our top picks:

Craps: A Love Story

We love craps. We love the sights and sounds of playing the game. Craps is always the loudest game in the casino and, while we love this, it scares most people from playing. Including most of our friends.
We had lunch at Pink Taco at the Hard Rock one day last week and were sharing the tale about the first time we played craps. Not coincidentally, our first time playing craps was at the Hard Rock.
We were walking around the boisterous casino floor one Saturday night and after watching a craps game from afar we decided the excitement was too much to just watch so we decided to join in on the action. We had no idea what we were doing, but we were close enough to a stick man to ask questions. We didn't speak much to begin and we watched others and played very conservatively.
Everyone played the passline with a bet behind. We followed suit as that seemed to be minimum. We didn't do any of the other bets as they seemed a bit crazy to us. We watched people scream and holler while points were hit and while we initially didn't make much money, we didn't lose money and we were learning how to play.
After a few turns the dice made it to the one woman playing at the table. It was her first time, too. She had no idea what she was doing, either. She just threw the dice and for 30 minutes she hit point after point. While we sipped on Grey Goose and soda, we learned how and why people get caught up in the game. We caught the vibe. Winning only helped fuel our new passion for craps.

Pink Taco's Happy Hour Will Fill You Up and Get You Drunk For Less

Doesn’t tequila always make a Happy Hour more fun? Pink Taco thinks so, and we agree, as long as we don’t literally hit the floor as the drunken hour goes on. Located inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, the Mexican restaurant holds a weekday Happy Hour Mondays through Fridays from 4 pm to 7 pm at the bar. Happy hour specials include two-for-one house margaritas and beers and half-priced appetizers. Hell, yes. We'll even forgo the idea of eating and drinking at a place called "Pink Taco" just for this deal.
