Where: 4321 W Flamingo Rd [map], 89103
March 13, 2013 at 9:45 PM | by | ()

The Palms is replacing Playboy bunnies with board games, pool tables, and shuffleboard. And, if your reaction is anything like ours, you're scratching your head right now. And, possibly uttering oookkkkay at the same time over a move we would have expected more from another P named hotel-casino than this one.

The off-Strip resort has announced that guests will be able to take in The View, a new, fun and games-focused lounge atop its Fantasy Tower, starting this Friday, March 15:

Where: 4321 West Flamingo Road [map], 89103
August 28, 2012 at 2:20 PM | by | ()

Big changes are underway at the Palms as it tries to get back in the game reinvent itself once again.

You've probably already heard about the new rooms that are on the way, the new sportsbook that's already here, and the new dining (Heraea, XISHI and Chocolat Bistro, for starters) that's to come. There's also a nightlife and casino revamp on tap, too. (Let's pause, though, to pour some out for Little Buddha, Garduño’s, Cathay House, the Playboy Club, the Empire Comedy Club, Hart & Huntington and Pauly D. Standby as to whether Alize will be added to this list.)

Guess Where The New Playboy Club Is? Nope, Not Vegas

August 22, 2012 at 7:30 PM | by | ()

Excited about the opening of the all-new Playboy Club? So are we. Except it's going to be a hell of a taxi ride from The Strip.

Back in March when the Playboy Club and the iconic bunny image vacated The Palms, the talk of Vegas was the next destination for the venerable brand and club. Smart money was on The Cosmopolitan and the bunnies we talked to were looking forward to a fresh new home and a theme they were told was more in keeping with Hyde lounge than the dated club that sat atop their Palms tower.

Well, months have passed and nary a word. Except Playboy is now opening a whole new club on September 1st. In Cologne, Germany. And, it sounds exactly like everything the Vegas Playboy Club could have hoped to be and, frankly, should have been.

Playboy Club Closer to Closing At The Palms

May 23, 2012 at 12:16 PM | by | ()

The last nights of the Playboy Club are drawing to an end.

The one and only club of its kind announced its plans to fold up the bunny ears back in March, with a vague closing date of early June. While that date has yet to be specified (even now), it seems to be rapidly approaching as the Palms has announced that the last day for the Playboy Store will be Sunday, June 3.

The Last Nights Of The Playboy Club

Where: 4321 W. Flamingo Road [map], 89103
March 28, 2012 at 2:01 PM | by | ()

It remains one of the most iconic and recognizable brands in the world yet after six years The Playboy Club at the Palms is closing. Sometime in June. When, is not quite clear. Nor is the future of the lounge or its staff.

What happens to the Bunny icon on the outside of the Palms tower? The Bunnies themselves? All under wraps. Rumors are rampant -- *cough* Cosmopolitan *cough* -- but who knows? (*cough* Cosmopolitan *cough*)

Recent fact-finding missions to the Palms (it was for research, people) to gently prise nuggets from the staff ended with a genuine consensus of -- who knows? We did, though, discover a few surprises and were able to take a look-see at what the closing of a dynasty looks like. It's not the fall of Rome -- and we certainly believe what we heard, that another Playboy Club in Las Vegas will rise again -- but, if it's on your bucket-list to visit the only U.S. Playboy Club, time is running out.

March 20, 2012 at 6:38 PM | by | ()

The demise of the Playboy Club at The Palms was not that big of a surprise here at VegasChatter, especially after the whole Bunny scabs incident.

The man responsible for breeding Bunnies, Hugh Hefner, has finally admitted the club's closure on Twitter. Yet, he also said that the Playboy Club would be returning to Vegas in a new location.

Soon, There Will Be No More Bunny Ears at The Palms

March 16, 2012 at 2:01 PM | by | ()

After being accused of bunny cruelty, the Palms is now getting out of the Playboy bunny business entirely.

The Las Vegas Sun says the Playboy Club will close in early June, but reports that the Palms isn't saying why, or what's next for the space.

Back in November, we shared with you the outrage of two bunnies who were part of a mass bunny firing. Not too long after that, the Playboy Comedy Club picked up and headed to Paris where it is now the Empire Comedy Club.

Palms Accused of Bunny Cruelty, Fired Bunnies Speak Out

November 11, 2011 at 1:52 PM | by | ()

Fired Palms Playboy Bunnies stepping out from the shadows.

After a week of wondering, we have our answer -- The Palms did, indeed, fire all of its Bunnies.

You wouldn't know it from going to the hotel's Playboy Club, though, because Bunny scabs are already in place behind the tables. Go to the Palms website and be just as clueless that the ladies looking at you so seductively were all fired. Forced to turn in their tails, ears and cuffs with no notice, no true explanation. Told not to bother applying for any other position at the Palms. And, warned that if they talked to the media, they'd be blackballed in the industry.

Did The Palms Fire All Of Its Bunnies?

November 4, 2011 at 8:47 PM | by | ()

Did this bunny have to turn in her ears?

Vegas' unemployment rate is still high above the national average and now there may be a few earless bunnies joining the ranks.

We were perusing a USA Today article on the debut of a new Playboy Pit on the Palms casino floor, when we got bored and skipped down to the checked out the comment section. There, we were surprised to find not one, but two posts that claim the Palms has let its bunnies go! Gasp!

How To Spend NYE When Money (Or Your Credit Limit) Is No Object

December 8, 2010 at 4:13 PM | by | ()

If all you want for Christmas is an over-the-top NYE, here's how to do it.

We've told you how to spend New Year's Eve in Vegas for a $100 bucks or less so it's only fair to tell you how to spend, spend, spend as well.

Of course, it's no surprise that the most luxe Vegas hotels are where you'll find the most extravagant NYE packages. And, it seems like Wynn and Encore hold the (unofficial) title for having the most packages with the biggest price tags.

The 2010 MMA Awards Recap: A Slayer, A Player, and a Hangover

Where: 4321 W Flamingo Rd [map], 89103
December 2, 2010 at 2:14 PM | by | ()

Fighters, celebrities, Vegas notables, and MMA fans came together at the Pearl at the Palms last night for the third annual World MMA Awards. It was a great vibe with a long red carpet, since after all who doesn't want to be honored at an awards show in Las Vegas?

The recurring theme for the night for us was Ron Jeremy. He was like a pimple on prom night; he kept popping up around us everytime we turned around. The night started off with Ron walking the Red Carpet without a belt.

Even at his age, he has no trouble keeping things up. The night ended spying a pajama clad Ron Jeremy in red (possibly pinkish) crocs staring wistfully into the Playboy store. To have been a fly on the wall with those thoughts...
