If you oontz it, they will come.

Omnia, the brand new nightlife experience at Caesars Palace by Hakkasan Group, is street official now. An invite-only group previewed the mega-club last night and flooded social media with a first look. The most ooo-worthy was the massive, Close Encounters of the Third Kind-inspired chandelier above the main dance floor which appears to drop almost as much as the bass does.

Less than a month away now, Omnia -- the new nightlife mega-venue replacing PURE at Caesars Palace -- will be all about that bass. Opening March 13, Omnia won't just offer three levels of oontz to explore (including a revamped outdoor balcony), but a new club-inside-a-club experience, too.

Will There Be An Omnia Beach Club, Too?

Where: 89109

Omnia, the new mega-nightclub headed to Caesars Palace early next year, is said to mean "all," but will that mean a party pool, too?

VegasChatter Facebook fan Taylor R. found a trademark filed by parent company Hakkasan for the name, Omnia Beach Club. A check also found a sister trademark for Omnia Day Club. But, while this week's news reports have highlighted the rooftop garden, nary a word has been uttered about a day life experience.

Strip Changes In 18 Pics

The Strip of today is not the Strip of tomorrow. And, when we say tomorrow, we don't just mean the near|distant future, we mean tomorrow tomorrow.

On-going construction continues to bring us a slightly different Vegas each day. Last week, we checked up on six different projects, from the tear-down of a never-completed resort to a casino remodel. The 18 photos below, snapped by Greg C. and @paperposter, were captured between August 19 and August 22. So, yeah, expect five of these projects to be slightly more advanced today.

The Harmon

At The Harmon, the latest phase of a year-long demolition brings a crane and black barrier drapes. The condo-hotel never opened due to construction errors.

At Caesars Palace, PURE Closing, Poker Room Reportedly Readying For Move

When we're asked to recommend nightclubs in Vegas, PURE is never first to mind. (Or, second. Or, third. Or... you get the point.)

So, it's probably no surprise that PURE is in its final days nights at Caesars Palace. The Las Vegas Sun reports that PURE will close at the end of the month for a full remodel while the Review-Journal cites a more specific May 26 closing date.

A Vegas Virgin Does Vegas With Other Virgins

August 21, 2013 at 3:18 PM | by | ()

We told you about our first time... visiting Vegas, that is. And, some of you have told us about yours. Now it's time for another of VegasChatter's writers, who pens stories under Jproz, to tell us about his.

My first visit to Vegas was doomed to be an absolute gong show and disaster from the minute we departed! First off, this trip was orchestrated as my birthday celebration and involved about 14 people. We found a discounted trip out of an airport about 4.5 hours from home and decided to take it. (Home is Canada.) The problem was that the flight left at 6 a.m. so midnight found us all piling into cars and fleeing from our better judgement. Oh, and did I mention we were all virgins?

This Vegas Virgin Was 'Sexiled'

December 3, 2012 at 4:52 PM | by | ()

We told you about our first time... visiting Vegas, that is. And, some of you have told us about yours. Now it's time for one of VegasChatter's newest writers, who pens stories under Wake and Wander, to tell us about his.

My first visit to Vegas suffered the metaphorical equivalent of a flight delay. I found myself waiting in the lobby of The Mirage for 45 minutes, suitcase at my side, until my friend "found his phone" and returned my call. When I finally got the room number and met him upstairs, he could barely stand up. The room reeked of rum and Coke, cologne, and the steam of a hot iron. Clothes were all over, suitcases in every corner. I saw that the space under the desk was vacant so I slid in my suitcase. I turned to the dresser and saw the bottles of booze. This wasn’t just any hotel room – this was a Vegas hotel room, for sure.

15 Vegas Spots That Are (Surprise!) Still Open

September 14, 2012 at 12:09 PM | by | ()

A lot of new sh*t opens and lot of old sh*t closes each month in Las Vegas. Sometimes even new sh*t closes. There are so many openings and closings even your favorite know-it-alls had to start keeping track. Seriously, did you see how much sh*t happened last month?

Sometimes when we're wrapping up the comings and goings around town we stop to think wow, that's still open? Some revelations are pleasant surprises while others seem to break every law of economics and common sense we ever did learnt. Time to get in our head and discover which spots we're surprised are still open:

VegasChatter's Guide to Halloween 2011: Coco, Snooki and Manson, Oh My!

October 11, 2011 at 3:23 PM | by | ()

Time for another VegasChatter Question! This time, we're here to attend to a VC member who's found themselves in quite a pickle. Do you have a question about Vegas? Send it to us and if we deem it clean enough, we'll post it here on VegasChatter!

Halloween is almost here and in Vegas that's a whole lotta frightful fun, a few unexpected horrors and, our favorite, slutty ghouls. The best parties of the year (outside of New Year's Eve) are on the verge of happening and we. can't. wait!

VegasChatter fan Amy P. knows just how we feel. She wrote us a desperate plea for help as the clock ticks ever closer:

Seven Clubs, One Night, One Price

Where: Las Vegas [map]
September 8, 2011 at 4:00 PM | by | ()

This could be you. Not the famous rapper with the mic, the faceless crowd. And, this could just be one of seven stops for you. In one night. If you think that's more hassle than it's worth, VegasChatter's club kid Brandy Alxander tells us how we can report to seven floors for just one low price... and if it's really worth it.

Caesars Entertainment, the same company that brought us the Buffet of Shows, the Buffet of Buffets and the Pool of Pools, now brings us the All Night Pass, what Caesars’ Pulse of Vegas Blog describes as “a way to ‘cut through the velvet rope’ with a one-night, one-price, all-access pass to seven of the hottest nightclubs in Sin City.”

The pass is valid from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. (on Sundays through Thursdays only), but since clubs really only operate from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., you can do all the dancing in the dark you want for about 6 hours. The seven venues include: Pure at Caesars Palace, Chateau at Paris, Gallery at Planet Hollywood, the Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon also at PH, Carnaval Court at Harrah's and Crown and VooDoo, both at Rio.

Why Party Rockin' Mid-Week Is Better

August 19, 2011 at 1:58 PM | by | ()

Everyone wants to be up in the club in Vegas, but if you think the weekends are the only time to hit them, you're missing out. VegasChatter's Club Kid BrandyAlxander is back to tell us why that next Vegas vacation should be Monday through Thursday.

Weekends - when hotel rates and crowds are at their worst. It’s also when some of the best entertainment is scheduled, but brave the crowds and cover prices at your own risk. We bargain, er smart, party travelers know better and go out mid-week for cheaper, faster and more attentive service.

Personally, I only like to go out on The Strip during the week. Besides, my generous hook-ups can’t comp me a table on weekends, and really there’s no point in going to a club if you don’t have a table. I make exceptions, though, for my rookie friends who come to visit from out of town over the weekend, bless their hearts.

It’s once we’re in the club on a Saturday night that they immediately regret their decision. We’re packed in there like sweaty, scantily clad sardines and no matter how much we flip our hair and flash our cleavage smiles, we’re no match for the prostitutes models and their high rollers who’ve got the bartender’s attention.
